Overall: 3+Comments: the outdoor area was the obvious place in nice spring and summer weather. Decent portions and fairly tasty meals. Service was a bit slow. At Thon Hotel Otta we offer delicious, home-made meals served in cozy surroundings by our attentive staff. During the summer season, dinner is usually served as a buffet, and outside of summer season we offer a 3 course meal with choice of fish or meat as
The restaurant seemed institutional in its decor, but it was functional, like the rest of the hotel. The buffet meal had enough to offer in its variety. Nothing remarkable, but good enough.

Nordre Ekre offers todays set menu based on the best local ingredients from Gudbrandsdalen, side by side with international ingredients. You can also sample a variety of mature Norwegian cheeses, many of these are from local cheese makers. Lunch: Between
The location within the Nordre Ekre farm-hotel and the view of the mountains and river below is stunning. The wooden houses that conform the complex are lovely. The restaurant is decorated in a minimalistic style yet manages to feel very cozy. There is a set menu (3 or 4 courses) and the chef -prior reservation- kindly prepared a vegan menu for me which was wonderful though for both the vegan and my husband's regular menu, the first course (a salad) was a little on the boring side. The rest of the courses were great. The service however nice, can be greatly improved (we waited a long time to be seated, to be brought a chair for the baby, to get water refills, etc.) The wine menu is average and pricey for the quality of the wine. Overall however it's a wonderful option for dining in the region and we certainly recommend it.Thank you for taking he time to write a review, and telling other travellers about us.We are glad you enjoyed your visit, and are thankful for your remarks, from which we will do our best to do better in the future, Thank you from Ãyvind & Marit
