The Restaurant "Cardini" is located in Someraro, on the hills of Stresa, and overlooks the Lake Maggiore with a charming view on the Borromeo Isles and the surrounding mountains. The restaurant has a large dining room with 70/80 seats and a terrace where
we out a lot, but when on a short break we rarely go back to the same place twice.great first meal.great second meal.the pasta with pears, and the lamb were standout. I would have preferred the lamb a little bit pink. but hey - it was great.it is a long way out of town. it took us 40 mins to walk there (up a steep hill) - but i guess that is what taxi's are for.lovely view. would be worth going for the view.oh and by that way it is great value for money

"Our passion for hospitality and restaurants have led us to treat this fascinating work with the love, respect and respect it so greatly deserves. Our innovative Mediterranean cuisine is distinctive and we love to pamper our guests in the romantic rooms o
Chef Cannavacciulo is one of the most famous chefs in Italy, a bigger-than-life character on the local Masterchef program. The celebrity status and frequent absence from the restaurant does not affect in any way the absolute excellence of any dish produced for the enjoyment of the guests, though. Traveling from south to north through the tasting menu will allow you to discover and enjoy the perfection of cooking techniques displayed by the talented and passionate team put together by the chef. However, the dishes from Campania on the a la carte menu are the ones that express the heart and soul of Chef Cannavacciulo. The best cuisine experience from a stay at La Villa Crespi will be enjoyed when two evenings are spent at the restaurant, one to discover the various features of the tasting menu, and the following one to get deeper into the life experience of the chef expressed in the cuisine from his home region. The sommelier is also very versatile and will know not only how to pair wines with dishes skillfully, but also how to sense what your wine affinities are to complete a more personal experience. Many team members are young and in development, but definitely with the capabilities and character to help the restaurant grow towards perfection...

The restaurant, with its fine indoor and outdoor terraces directly overlooking the lake, is known for its regional and creative cuisine, its well-stocked cellar with over 450 labels and the friendly professional courtesy of the young well qualified staff.
Receptionist were very welcoming and friendly, and booked us a table for 30 minutes after check in. Upon arriving at the restaurant, servants ignored us at the entrance till we entered ourselves. Table was not ready yet, needed to wait another 15 minutes. The cuisine is suppose to be ânouvelle cuisineâ but really did not turn out as such. Lack of taste, creativity and presentation made our highly anticipated dinner to a disappointment. Even Sparkling Wine we had to pour ourselves from the bottle. Service is arrogant and not up to âMichelinâ star restaurant. The fromage selection was fantastic though. Rest not worth the price !

Dear Guests, the starting idea of this restaurant embodies one of the themes from the popular movie Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet in 2001, that is to keep a curious eye on the world and take pleasure in the sim
This is a delightful, small (~8 tables) restaurant that is well off the beaten track, but well worth the trek. Glorious food, attentive, efficient, multi-lingual and friendly service. The chef takes pride in periodically coming front-of-house to greet the diners. If you are fastidious or constrained in what you eat then I suggest you check the menu before entering, as it is very limited. Happily, my wife and I are unpretentious and are adventurous when it comes to tasty, well prepared and presented food. We had no problems meeting our desires from the menu (including veal tartare, seafood ravioli, monkfish, tuna, cheesecake, panna-cotta).We were happy to pay ~170â¬; for a starter, a first course, two mains and two deserts, washed down with a bottle of reasonably priced champagne. There is a 5⬠p.p. cover charge, but you do get a bread basket that is varied, âmore-ishâ and abundant. If it is within your budget, DO NOT pass this charming restaurant by.

A relatively inexpensive restaurant with very extensive list of pizzas plus some other menu choices. The glass-fronted restaurant also offers a nice outdoor terrace (although anyone bothered by passive smoking from other tables should beware that Italian restaurants seem to allow smoking in outdoor areas) with lake views and a large air conditioned interior. There is also free Wifi.

We found this true gem by mere chance driving by on our way back to Milan from Gravellona Toce. You can eat inside or (if spring, summer or early autumn) outside. You don't get a menu although there is a chalk written blackboard you can refer to inside. The server will tell you what is available and what it is made of.They asked if anyone had celiac or allergy issues which doesn't happen every day.The food was great. Well prepared, excellent presentation neither too much nor too little. Starters, second course, desert were outstanding. As I was driving I had to limit my self to half a glass of wine. That little I had was as good as the meal. We'd go there more often if it was closer.

Villa Pizzini serves typical food using only seasonal ingredients and sourcing local fruit, vegetables and meat. Every meal is home made and prepared while you wait to guarantee you the best culinary experience. Our speciality is the homemade pasta that w
We booked ourselves into Villa Pizzini for dinner, bed & breakfast as part of a two day walk from Stresa to Orta. We very much enjoyed the "small 4 course menu" which was full of interesting flavours using high quality ingredients complemented by some delicious Italian red wine. It's expensive, but the whole area is, and when you take into account quality and transportation to the top of a mountain then it's not overpriced. Our room was quite small and minimalistic but light with windows in several directions. It's wasn't luxurious (the corridors and dark green metal doors gave the accommodation a hostel like feel) but it was comfortable and beautifully quiet. Breakfast buffet the next morning comprised again high quality ingredients - really excellent freshly made coffee, yoghurt and fruit juices, tasty cheeses, cold meat and bread and delicious homemade cakes. The downside was that the quantities were rather measured (except for the cakes which were plentiful) presumably because there were only 4 overnight guests and the pieces of cheese and the bread looked like leftovers. Still there was enough to eat but there was a still feeling of having to hold back. The owner watched over us for the duration and with only one other couple having breakfast the atmosphere was one of "hushed whispers" and not very relaxing. A shame. As an aside, the views from the top of Mottarone are wonderful but the mountain top itself, like many ski resorts in summer, looked sad with ongoing maintenance work etc. The walk from Stresa to Mottarone proved less strenuous than we thought (we are regular hillwalkers) and route finding very easy as it was waymarked all the way but the route down to Orta was not well marked so a GPS would be handy. Overall a very enjoyable two days.

We went there for lunch various times. The service is excellent and fast. Le ragazze sono molto gentile. I can especially recommend the "insalata Salero" but also their rice and Pasta dishes are very tasty and they serve Pizza as well. Whenever we visit il Lago d'Orta we make sure to stop at Salero 16.
