Just a few minutes from MXP Airport lies Somma Lombardo, one of the small towns surrounding the airport where many of the "airport hotels" are. Corte Visconti is an excellent alternative to dining in your hotel, as a nice conclusion to a holiday in Italy, or as a fine dining experience before an early departure to an overseas destination.Charming warm atmosphere in thhe winter, and a nice small garden terrace in the summertime. Family run, very friendly owners. Good selection of wines and 5-star menu. Either before or after dinner, you may include a nice walk by the Castello Visconti Castle in the centre of Somma Lombardo. The restaurant lies in a small alley just by the castle, but difficult to find using Google Maps: I suggest just heading for the Castle and then park in front of it, walking the few yards to the restaurant. Prices are a bit on the higher end, but worth it.

This is one of those happy accidents which you hope will happen as you travel. On the way to EXPO in Milan, we were searching for a hotel close to the train to Rho. A helpful woman in the small town of Cameri directed us to La Locanda for rooms, little did we know what awaited us! A kitchen graced by the genius of Chef Matteo Ridoni....inventive, delicious and beautiful food.Getting there can be a challenge (GPS #68 Via Carlo Mazzucchelli, turn @ corner w/tobacco & coffee shops). We stayed two nights and felt immensely fortunate! There is also a website & Facebook acct.

New good restaurant for business dinner and special events
We back here this year after a very good meal last year. The pasta with pesto was seriously excellent and high quality. We had ordered a sliced ham dish which never came plus two pizzas. As soon as the pasta came the pizzas were on the table. While good, they seemed undercooked and good....The waiter never came back and we had to go to the front desk to pay....yes they charged us for the undelivered ham plate which we had to have them take off.It was an uneven night at best and when we had the chance to return the following week after another overnight at Malpensa, we passed.

My husband and I were invited to a birthday party with approx 30 people in attendance at this beautiful castle atop a hill in Pombia. We had a fixed price menu of 39 euros, which included 5 courses, wine and water. The service was outstanding the food was over the top GREAT!

Good food nice place, service was on top of everything especially for large groups. The restaurant is located in the sports village and you overlook the tennis courts which apparently can be quite scenic in the summer. I went for business lunch in November so not much to see.

Initial greeting was a a bit odd. The 2 of us Sat at a table for 2 outside...a waitress appeared and asked "per due?". Seriously?Decent beer on tap but nothing special. We ordered the mixed meat grill which was just OK by again nothing special. Bulked up with very ordinary frankfurters and with a really gristly piece of steak! Also why was the beef from Ireland ? I understood Piemonte was famous for its beef! Slapdash service from all but one waitress meant it does not deserve to be number 2 in town in our opinion. Marechiara is much better!

Recommended by our B&B host this restaurant was the perfect place to finish our 3-week Italy-Croatia holiday. Partner thought the fresh lobster gnocchi was the best she had eaten while my plain-sounding fish soup was more of a seafood platter .... amazing for taste and value.
