The tavern Dolina, in the small Istrian village Gradinje, near mythical Motovun, is an ideal place to enjoy a home-cooked Istrian cuisine, unspoiled nature and perfect for an escape from the everyday bustle, noise and stress. It is only a kilometer from t
This family owned, traditional Istrian restaurant is located near the river Mirna valley, surrounded by beautiful greenery. They offer typical Istrian meals (fuži, njoki, pljukanci pasta... with mushrooms, wild board, homemade sausages) and they sure know how to make them exquisite and the same goes for the homegrown tomato salad! The terrace is small so in the summer make sure to make a reservation. The staff is very warm but can be a bit too pushy, checking too often whether everything is ok.

Lovely smiling welcome and superb service. Assistance choosing dishes which showcased the produce and wine of the area. Perfect. Truffle flavours, tender meat, melt in the mouth sides. Dessert to delight. Wines to match. We sat beside the view, savoured every mouthful and did not want to leave.

We are proud on our a la carte restaurant Palladio which offers a combination of modern, creative and traditional Istrian cuisine. Along with many specialties, get acquainted with the authentic story of Istrian delicacies and the culture of life in this r
Having wandered around Motovun for a while we were rather hungry and decided to stop here for their daily menu. This consisted of cream soup with truffles, pork fillet roll with truffle sauce and chocolate truffles for 125 kuna. All the food was very tasty and filling and we enjoyed it very much. We also had a juice and a double expresso and all up the bill came to 288 kuna which we thought was pretty reasonable given the quality of the food and the presentation. We had managed to secure a table with a view over the valley which was spectacular (note that there are only a handful of tables with views). The wait staff were very friendly although the service was a little slow given we were the only ones there for most of the time. All up we thought it was a nice meal and experience.

We were in the area visiting motovun and the frescoes at Beram, I saw this place on tripadvisor with good reviews, we were not disappointed. Meat and cheese to start, pasta with truffles and ravioli, followed by lamb and pork, and a panacotta with stewed apple. Great red wine in a great settling. £25 a head including tip for 4 people.

Have been coming here for years. No better place for a glass of wine, plate of cheese, good book and a spectacular view. Really friendly team of people who are always bustling around helping out. If you are in the area try to get here to sit down and watch everyone passing by. Superb!

Very disappointing given itâs current rating. Very little attempt at presentation or value for money. An Istrian shared plate starter was totally underwhelming and extremely mean portion wise. The prosciutto bore very little resemblance to any other we tried. Very fatty unlike the local prosciutto which Is drier and has no fat.The pork tenderloin main course was certainly not what we know as tenderloin and looked very like gammon steaks! There was one waiter working the whole restaurant who gave the impression he would rather be anywhere than there! To miss quote the Michelin guide, not worth a visit, itâs trading on past glory,if ever it had one!

Had a lovely welcome dinner here before a walking holiday at the end of August. Itâs a great terrace spot with amazing views and very good service from an attentive but on obtrusive waiter who spoke excellent English. We all had homemade pasta : two with truffles and one with sardines which was amazing washed down with the house (tap) wine which was surprisingly good ! We all had local desserts afterwards to round off a nice evening then out through the shop.

We were served delicious homemade bread with homemade truffle tapenade and olive oil before our mains arrived. The menu is centred around local truffles, I hadnât tried truffles before and took a risk on the tagliatelle, turns out I donât like truffles but the pasta and sauce were still delicious, my partner had the four cheese ravioli and that was great too. The setting is good but you canât see the views from the restaurant, if thatâs what youâre after there are lower standard restaurants further up.

Trattoria â pizzeria 2. PERON is situated in the heart of Istria, in Cerovlje, a small town which developed after the railway construction throughout Istria in the end of 19th century. All our local food is offered and made specificaly following our grand
Drove past this restaurant a few times en route to our villa without noticing it but looks very modern and quaint. Whole family went there for a meal and we were so glad we did. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu has English underneath so easy to ascertain what you want (highly recommend the steaks). There were childrenâs food options on the menu which was great for our two children. The food was good sized portions and extremely tasty. The meat is locally sourced and the desserts are all homemade, even the ice cream. Will be back again before we leave.Thank you very much for the nice review. We are so happy you enjoyed your visit at 2. PERON. All the best!
