Iceland is an expensive country and food is very frightfully expensive. If you are living at the Hilton Hotel this is a great place to eat. By Iceland standards, it is moderately priced and the food is wholesome and excellent. The price includes the main meal with vegetables, soup, salad, bread and coffee. Even though we did not go back for seconds, as the meal was very filling, we were told we could if we wanted to.The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Kröst is a modern gourmet Grill and Wine bar at the Hlemmur Food Hall in downtown ReykjavÃk. Big selection of wine by the glass and food made from seasonal local ingredients.
Don't be put off by the fact that this eatery is in a busy foodhall, has communal tables and is very busy. We ate there twice and had really good, helpful service on both occasions from different members of staff. We easily got ourselves somewhere to sit and the food was then delivered quite quickly to us. The food itself was good. The burgers that we had on the first night were tasty and well cooked. The second time that we ate here we had the cod and potatoes and that was really well cooked and delicious. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to eat if you want restaurant quality food within a very different environment.

We are a family run restaurant with Icelandic home cooking. Our specialty is on seafood and Icelandic lamb. We also offer a choice of three or a five course set menu OPENING HOURS: Lunch: 11:30 - 15:30, Dinner: 17:00 - 22:00
Old Iceland Restaurant was recommended to us by the staff of the Sküggi Hotel (excellent lodging!) specifically because I have dietary restrictions. The wait staff and the kitchen are well educated about celiacs disease and food allergies and made me feel very confident upon ordering. (Those of you who have celiacs know the anxiety that comes with eating at an unfamiliar restaurant.)My husband and I each got a different starter and different meal and swapped half way through. Everything we had was so delicious that I regretted being over the age of 5 and couldnât kick my plate without ending up shamed in a YouTube video. The gluten free bread and seasoned butter was so good that I thought a mistake had been made and it was ânormalâ bread. Not only did we have a glorious anniversary dinner our first night in Reykjavik, we went back two nights later and had the soup as a main course... AND went back our last night to have the shellfish soup starter and the cod entree.I am looking forward to coming back to Iceland... yes, itâs a beautiful country filled with welcoming people... but Iâm coming back for the soup.

What a fabulous fabulous fabulous meal! We had the AMAZING fish soup and cod tartar to start. I could eat the fish soup everyday for the rest of my life and never tire of it! I had the Ling fish which was the best fish I have ever had. My husband had the Plaice fish which was great as well. We finished with the coconut panna cotta. What a tremendous meal. Great staff. Great ambiance. Winner, winner!!

Family owned and run restaurant in the heart of ReykjavÃk. Cosy and relaxed atmosphere with traditional Icelandic quality food and personal service.
Reykjavik Kitchen does not take reservations but it's well with waiting for. Arriving 7:30P on a Saturday evening we had to wait approximately 45 mintutes. You can have a drink while waiting but there's really no room other than standing room while doing so. When we were finally seated, everything was brought out in a timely manner. Our group of four ordered the same appy's and entree's. That was too funny. Starting off with a salad we then each ordered the coffee smoked salmon and we had the black pasta for our main course. For dessert we spit the homemade vanilla ice cream with hot raspberry sauce sprinkled with chocolate ash. Fantastic to say the least.

Had the marinated (ling) fish dish with couscous and an assortment of veggies(shredded cabbage, beet etc.) with sweet potato, raisins and yogurt. It was delicious. Staff were friendly. I would def. hope to go back some day. Ideal for vegans too. Reasonably priced compared to most other restaurants.

Laug-As was suggested to me for my motorcycle tour group of 10 people for our 'Welcome Dinner'. With a great reputation for excellent food, I wanted the group to experience more than just one entrée. Chef Johann and the owner accommodated us perfectly. Guests tried things they probably never would have if not for the Family-style method of being served. So the lamb, the Beef, the Fish were all fantastic... and the special desert was also a topper.

Open for for lunch Monday to Friday and the whole day and dinner Tuesday to Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Sunday's.Gallery Fiskur is located next to the Arbaer open-air museum in Reykjavik and right by one of the main roads from the city center. I
In an unusual location outside of Reykjavik , you will find Gallery Fiskur, an excellent place to get fresh seafood. The citrus cured arctic char is an excellent light starter, with the crunch of a nut and crouton mix and pomegranate giving it an elegant complexity. The peppersteak halibut is excellent, fresh meaty halibut paired with a strong black pepper coating, with a nice mushroom cream sauce. The plokkfiskur- cod with mashed potato and cheese, is a traditional, decadent Icelandic dish . The Haddock Monday style also was a nice set of fillets, with potatoes and seared vegetables. They have a selection of drinks- wines, beers and softdrinks. Service is friendly and provides good suggestions. Nice place for good tasty seafood.

We were staying locally so checked out Blik for dinner one evening. We reserved our table online which was an easy process, and were given a table by the window - so we were treated to a sensational sunset. Me u was small, but definitely something for everyone. Food was good and reasonably priced by Iceland standards, and service with a smile. A memorable evening for all the right reasons.
