We took a large party of family and friends ranging from 12 year olds to 77 and we all had a great meal. The children mainly went for the ribs or chicken whereas the adults went for the lamb or crispy beef, which was delicious. All mains were served simply with potatoes and salad which was just how we like it. There was a good choice of wines too. Also the puds are fab with everything from cheesecake to chocolate mousse but I had the apricot tart with a friend which was delicious. The service was lively and great (they spoke English amazingly well) and the prices very good.We sat outside (in the evening) on a long table with electric heaters. This was our second time there, having done lunch last year, and we'll definitely be back!

Good value auberge on the outskirts of Montreuil. Near the more famous Auberge de la Grenouillere
Charming rural restaurant serving excellent food on linen tablecloths, without pretence.Service was attentive and professional, but friendly.Much more reasonably priced than the equivalent Le Touquet restaurants, a few miles away.A real find, we will be telling our friends and returning.

I have just read the last two reviewers and their complaints about this establishment being expensive. Hang on. How is 21 Euros - like £19 - for three substantial courses of interesting and tasty food, and house wine at 10 Euros a demi-litre, expensive? Where do these people usually eat - at Fred's caff? The ambiance is relaxed, the presentation clean and attractive and the owners and the waiting staff friendly. The food was more than adequate in quantity and taste and we had two very pleasant meals there.A combination of this restaurant and the Castel des Anges chambre d'hote up the road make Wailly Beaucamp a must visit destination.

This restaurant was recommended to us, and it proved a success. Best described as traditional cooking with a modern twist. Started with tagliatelle of courgette with smoked salmon, followed by filet mignon of pork with parsley sauce and dessert of thick rich chocolate mousse. Superb food at a reasonable price. Dinner for 2 with aperitifs and bottle of wine and 1 espresso â¬89.

As we had arrived at lunchtime we did not go with the trend of tea and patisserie (tempting though the beautifully crafted sweet treats were!) but instead opted for a salad each and we were not disappointed. The same skill of presentation had been applied to the salads and although we did not succumb to the temptation of a raspberry oil as a salad dressing the balsamic I can vouch for.The service was excellent and our greyhound was also made welcome being served in the same professional style with her welcome bowl of water.Admittedly the lunch menu is limited to salads, quiches, burgers and bagels but. if the salads are anything to go by, the alternatives would be great too and it was nice to eat healthily (for a change!)

Full of AUTHENTIC CHARACTER When you step over the threhold of this bourgeois house you will enjoy a traditional, mouthwatering cooking. Careful attention has been paid to the decor, as the service. With the possibility to have lunch or dinner in the inne
After being turned down at two restaurants which were fully booked, we decided to have lunch at âLe Cocquempotâ (it wasnât our first option due to their limited menu) And what a great surprise it was! Great food, great service... limited selection but excellent in every way! What they do, they do with excellence. We canât wait to visit again.

The restaurant has a simple decor and reasonably spaced tables. The music is restricted to the kitchen, which makes conversations pleasant. Interestingly shaped plates and real cloth table napkins. The menu is fairly restricted but enough to please anyone and gives the opportunity for the kitchen to make a really good job of cooking and presentation. This means that the dishes are innovative without being outrageous. Nicely done. A well-judged wine list with a good number of half bottles proposed. Good service.

This is a true gem near Montreuil sur mer and about 30 mins from Le Touquet. The chef took over and completely made over his fatherâs restaurant some 6 years ago. He mainly uses herbs, vegetables , fruit and further fish and meat from his region. We came here on a Sunday in August for a 9 course lunch , accompanied by the 4 wines they suggested. The white wines were good, went well with the starters and the masueteau. The red Shiraz from the Rhone valey was okish. The pear cider from Normandy superbly accompanied our dessert . The 9 courses are small, delicious , surprising and creative. Staff is friendly, well trained on product ingredients and wine graped. The interior is splendid, daring and contemporary, well thought through .We paid 293 euro for 2. Have a look at our pictures

In recent years we have noticed a decline in standards of moderately priced restaurants in France, particularly in tourist areas. However La Darnetal bucks the trend. This is a small restaurant with a cosy atmosphere and good food with welcoming hosts. We started with salmon done 3 ways, followed by fillet of beef with 2 different sorts of pepper. Finally chocolate coffee dessert. All in with an aperitif and bottle of wine for two £90.

Two years ago I wrote a review about my perfect evening here. We have eaten here many times and I always look forward to ending our holiday with a meal here. However this year was not the wonderful experience I was expecting. The service was so slow that after 45 minutes we asked if we could have our amuse bouche which tables around us seemed to be getting without asking. We had to ask twice for water and our starter took over an hour. The tables on either side of us had been seated after us but were already finishing their main course before our starter arrived. On querying this we were just told they were busy. Our main course arrived 2 hours after we had sat down and although Iâd been looking forward to the profiteroles ( which Iâve had many times ) we were too fed up and tired. Such a shame. It all seemed a bit frantic to me and no real explanation for the service we received. We did wonder if they had lost our order.Hello,We apologize for not having achieved your satisfaction as in your previous visits. The evening you dined, all the customers arrived at the same time, which resulted in longer service times than usual. We hope to be able to welcome you again to show you the quality of our restaurant in better conditions.
