We did not expect much in the cold and snow of January, but this restaurants offered a wide variety on the menu and each item was presented with care â and was very good.

Seven of us were cycling the wine area and stumbled upon Le Montrachet at lunchtime- not the most appropriate attire but they welcomed us regardless. They set meal was outstanding supported by a bottle of Montrachet (of course!). They were happy to do something special for a 10 year old. All in all outstanding - way too good for a cycling lunch. Will look to book the hotel and dine again!Highly recommended. Ps set lunch was â¬32 a head and the wine is as much as you dare pay for!

This is the first time I have found myself complaining about terrible service but in the end not blaming the staff but blaming the owner. We had to stand 5 minutes at the entrance to the restaurant waiting for the head waiter to show us to the table. We felt ignored. We sat 10 minutes while nothing happened. We were then given menus. We ordered some water while we studied the menu. We waited another 10 minutes for the water to return. The menu proudly announced "a daily menu" chosen by the best daily produce which was then not available. We ordered our meal and wine. A person came to the restaurant entrance in casual clothes and stood for about 5 minutes like we did. He spoke to two tables and then came to us. He asked if everything was ok. I said I thought the service was very slow and we had not had our wine yet. The glasses had arrived but not the wine. He went away and we never saw the gentleman again. Over the course of the meal we realised that we were not being singled out -everyone was having to wait. The reason was simple. There was two staff : a head waiter and a waitress who had to meet, greet, answer queries, sort the bills, take the money, select the wine and serve food and wine with explanations. Clearly something had to give. The sixteen diners needed patience in abundance. The kitchen also did not help the two restaurant staff. They plated up two tables at the same time- impossible to serve five hot dishes to two separate tables. So one table were served while the other watched impotently as their food cooled whilst the head waiter explained each of the plates. At the end I asked the head waiter who the gentleman was. It was the owner. I trust the owner will reply as to why he thinks it acceptable to have 2 staff serving 16 covers at what purports to be fine dining.

My husband and I had visited Olivier Leflaive vineyards and restaurant 18 years ago during a tour of Burgundy, and had such a great experience, we decided to visit again. With a new restaurant, we sat down to a very nice lunch and sampled 9 of his wines. With expert commentary on each wine, by a member of the staff(Charles) he brought each wine alive! It was great to sample classic wines and get an education. We were so impressed with the quality and expression of the wines: We shipped a case home. You must visit here, if you are in Burgundy!Thank you so much for your comment. It's a pleasure to read that you enjoyed the restaurant, our wine, the explanations of the sommeliers and our cooking as well.We hope you will enjoyed our wines back home. All the best and see you soon.Julie Leflaive

Warm reception by Eric who provided an excellent service throughout the meal which was outstanding. From the home-made snacks served with the aperitif through the two tastings from the kitchen and the four course menu, each dish was delicious. The wines from the region we tasted were excellent. We will certainly stop there again or follow the chef if he moves to another place.

We have been in France now for two weeks and have enjoyed many delicious meals. This was the best so far!!Not only was the food delicious, the wine wonderful, the atmosphere cozy and romantic, but the service was fabulous...friendly and helpful and welcoming! The salad with warm goat cheese was probably my most favorite salad ever! The tomatoes were incredible! We walked here from Beaune on the vineyard bike trail. We walked back to Beaune after our lunch. We walked 8 miles. This restaurant is worth it!!!

it's one of those places that has everything for itself: it's located in the beautiful village of Volnay, the tiny but comfy dining room is nicely decorated and the talented and passionate chef prepares dishes that are Michelin star material. He also brings some of the plates himself and you can see how much passion he puts into his work...BUT...The person in charge of the service, whom I believe is his spouse is simply in the wrong line of business.... I have rarely seen someone so obviously unhappy of doing this job ... she does it with such an obvious lack of enthusiasm that it's almost comical to watch... Really a shame cause even with an OK level of enthusiasm in the service, this place would be a total hidden gem

Crisp linen tablecloths and napkins. Good lighting. Amusing array of deer heads in various materials as decoration. Several menus. We had a very good foie gras with cèpes and roasted nuts, followed by a perfectly cooked pigeon in two declinations. Fantastic wine list and skilled assistance in selecting what to drink, a Meursault (of course) 1er Cru Blagny and a Morey-Saint-Denis. The just two persons serving the full dining room were efficient, but probably close to breaking down.

We stopped for lunch here and were surprised by the nice atmosphere. Great food and great wine. Nice to have a good view of the kitchen to watch all the preparations of the food.

We celebrated our friends birthday with a party of 10 last night. We were treated like family and the owner, Alberto, treated us to such amazing Italian food, from appetizers to desserts! The highlight was the pasta dish cooked table side in a large wheel of parmigiana/Romano cheese. Everything we ate was delicious and we all agreed that this was one of our top dining experiences! We highly recommend this restaurant.
