Want to try something different in Merzig, then Lusitano is the place to go. One of the newer restaurant establishment in Merzig, serving Portuguese food, along with other European dishes. My wife and I visited this restaurant for lunch one Sunday afternoon. Service was excellent by the boss and waiter, both of whom spoke English, and translated the German menu to us. The menu was well diverse with a selection of Fish, Beef, Pork dishes, along with salads and Specials (the day we were there it consisted of fresh grill octopus). While we made our decision, we ordered 2 Campari (5,00 euros each) and made our choice of a Filet Mignon (27,00 ) and the fish of the day (Doro, 17,50), along with two 1/2 liter of house wine. The waiter brought us a complimentary appetizer from the Chef, that consisted of rice, mushrooms, and chicken in a rich, but yet lite sauce. So far so good. The restaurant was clean and tidy. However, we decided to eat outside on the small terrace. The Terrance was small and kind of isolated that did not offer any view as it sits in the back of the restaurant. It also lacks music, that would have been nice. Our food was hot and cooked to our request.Flavourful, quality, and filling. Prices are average for the region. Our bill for 2 with main courses and dessert with drinks was 79,50 euros. This restaurant is located on the main street (Trierer Strasse 72) there is parking on the back side.Frequented by other Euro visitors.

This modern craft brew house (with a long tradition) is located in a beautiful and tall industrial space close to the Merzig Yacht club and harbor. The beer garden is just lovely when the weather permits. The "Saarfuerst" beer which comes in varieties "Hell", "Rot" and "Dark" tastes very good. Service is friendly and fast (sometimes overworked when the beer garden is busy). The food could use a little TLC, the spear ribs were under-cooked and the Wiener Schnitzel (from Pork) lacked flavor and was carelessly plated. Still a very recommended venue, because of the building, beer and location.

Words cannot describe the wonderful taste of top choice meat grilled to your perfection over an open wood fire. The atmosphere of a 5 star restaurant can be found in this cozy, warm, family owned restaurant. The moment you walk into the door, the aroma of the food makes your taste buds water. The staff greats you and escorts you to your seat. While you may choose off the main menu of many find dishes, there is also a special menu that the Chef has prepared that has always caught my attention. As you decide which meal you would like, the Chef comes around to each table, telling you a little about the âSpecialsâ or the choices of meat and how it is prepared. A very personal approach, as if you are the only customer there. They are so have âThemesâ for special times of the year. Our first time was Valentine Day, and now we have made it a tradition. You can even book your reservation on line. But do so early, as the restaurant bookings fills up quickly.
