We were a group of 21 staying here on a dinner b/b basis. The breakfast was fine, the usual mix of cold meats, cheese, cereals, yogurt and breads. Our evening meals were 4 courses, starting with a selection of salads, then soups (creamy usually and rather similar) then mains either fish, meat or veggie. Quality was fine really, not top notch but country fare and somedays better than others. Puddings were lovely too.No complaints except the flies buzzing round were a nuisance but you get that in the country.

All the earlier reviews are true - the pizzas are great, service is very fast but not compromising the food. Very few mention the pasta which is a shame. We had the salmon pasta and it was delicious. I would seriously recommend venturing beyond the pizzas. The menu is extensive and if the pasta is anything to go by, certainly worth a try.

we serve good old traditional Austrian Food but also delicious Pizzas in a nice Restaurant in the middle of the Wipptal valley between Innsbruck and Brenner
Was actually looking for another place when passed by Platzl a few times. It didn't look inviting from the outside. The first room entering is nice all though people are allowed to smoke. Next room looks more like a bar but then there is a third room - A non smoking room! Very nice Austrian style with only a few people. We all ordered different kind of "Schnitzel" and it was all delivered within 10min after ordering. The Wiener Schnitzel is on the large size - even kids schnitzel was huge for a 6 year old. All tasted good, great beers too.

This is our This is a self service meal station ve visit each time when passing by. Very silent, clean, cozy and comfortable.Fare prices, always fresh food and excellent range of dishes. Tip 1: prioritize your visit to W.C. before the meal, you will get 50 cent voucher for buying food. Otherwise, you will end up paying 70 cents for toilets and a souvenir 50 cent coupon which you will probably not use anyway, unless, you plan to stop there next day.Tip 2: to leave the restaurant, you have to pass through their shop.Tip 3: Autogrill is a much better branch than Rosenberger, without any doubt. Plan you lunch stops accordingly.
The traditional Austrian dishes were very good. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely eat here again. Could have done without the strong smoke smell from bar area.

Great choice of regional, Austrian and International cusine combined with seasonal specialities. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Ate dinner at this restaurant within the Parkhotel in Matrei. The menu had local dishes. They have a lovely terrace at the back and a well stocked salad bar. I can highly recommend the Fiakergulasch. It was a lovely Gulash with bread dumplings and an extra sausage. The prices were very reasonable and they had a nice wine selection as well. The service was very friendly, even when busy. Mains starting at 10â¬.Thank you very much for your positive feedback! We appreciate that you have had a pleasent time at the Parkhotel Matrei and you have enjoyed our Fiakergulasch on our terrace! After the hard (for us) walk up from the Meiders lift, we were in need of a good lunch, and were happy to find it here. It was very busy, and service a little slow, but the BernerWurst and Pommes Frites was a huge portion, and very nicely cooked. It's a beautiful building in a gorgeous location. We were a bit disappointed to see a big car park after we walked up, but that justified the big lunch. There's a little gift shop selling some unusual gifts (hand made soaps etc), and you can restore yourself with water from the healing springs afterwards.A lovely place to take in the views and have a meal.

This is like visiting a living museum. You can it inside the house surrounded by old memorabilia and special decor.Or you can sit outside at the back of the building which is nice on a hot summers night.Their mixed grill will easily keep you going until breakfast next day.And there are a lot of other interesting items on the menu to choose from.Service is nice and efficient.Prices are very reasonable.
