Interesting evening menu with choice of large sharing dish and/or âtapasâ type dishes. We chose a selection of six of the tapas dishes, which was enough for the three of us. Beef tartare, Cous Cous dish and hot dish of the day (combination of chicken, new potatoes and carrots in rich sauce) were particularly good. (Chips also very good). Also loved the frogs legs in garlic and parsley butter - not had them before and my wife and I enjoyed them but couldnât get my 13 year old daughter to try them (GROSS Dad!!)- even she enjoyed the butter though! Service was friendly and efficient and they allowed us to speak our imperfect French even though we heard them all speaking English to other customers, which is a plus for us.Reasonable bill at Euro 85 including drinks. Overall a very good experience and something a bit different in this great city with so many good restaurants. We would like to thanks you for the interest you had for us.sharing our passion is always a pleasure especially with that kind of feed backthanks again and be sure that we'll be glad to welcome you again.our best regards.Le questel team.

On a tuesday night the restaurant was almost full but the waiter manage to gave us a good table for four. Service was great and food was very good. We had gazpacho, tapanade and cod for starters and fish, pork and beef for mains. Only thing missing was non alcoholic beer or wine, sometimes you need one ;)Hello, Thank you very much forgive your impression on our restaurant. We hope, you spend a good moment with us. We take into account your appreciation to improve our services. See You next timeMélanie

We had dinner in this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The owner welcomed us warmly and was helpful in selecting the wine. The dishes we selected were all excellent ( the brandade first i.e. codfish ) tasty, well-cooked and quite original. The desert was excellent (profiterolles). It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it in my opinion. I can strongly recommend this place.

The team at restaurant SKAB welcomes you to a contemporary and cosy place, with its quiet and naturally shaded patio in the city centre of Nîmes, just a step away from the Arena and just in front of the âMusée de la Romanitéâ. An epicurean moment for your
Our experience was simply perfect. The dishes were imaginative, beautiful and most importantly absolutely delicious. We had the 8 courses with four glasses or wine and started with an aperitif. Cecile was our main server and was friendly, knowledgeable and very service minded. We wanted for naught. You can see fromPhotos 8 courses quickly become 10-11. Excellent wine selections. Adored the pinotnoir served with the guinea fowl. Perfect choice. The beginning two whites paired deliciously with first 3 courses. The final dessert wine had the perfect amount of sweetness for the cheese and pre-dessert and dessert. They managed my gluten allergy with great thoughtful. Including crispy French bread. How??? They altered each course as needed. Thank you for a great evening.

You would have thought that it would be easy to find a table at a decent restaurant on a Tuesday night in n September. But not in Nimes it seems. Some were closed whilst another we fancied was 'complet' when we called. So we went for this curious French/South African fusion. We'd booked at 6.30 and by the time we arrived at 7.45pm they were turning away potential punters. The food was good and my no carb/low carb wife was happy too. I had a cheese and beetroot starter with a lamb tagging for main. We both chose cheese for after. Wines were a mix of local and South African. The bill was not as cheap as some, but we left happy

Already recommended on Trip Advisor, they have a great selection of wines, good location in the best square in town, excellent service and chacuterie and cheese platters on offer for those who want more than a drink. Loved the wooden tables and umbrellas outside. Must go location for visitors to Nimes

We really enjoyed lunch at the Bistrot le Republique. The welcome was exceptionally friendly and the food great. The langoustines stood out but everything was decent including a very nice local red. And at under 50 euros for two people, three courses, wine and coffee, what can you say? While it very French (pretty much all the clientele were local) the waitress was happy to translate. And there was no sense that as a tourist you were any less welcome than the locals. The place was full by 1230 so get their early and enjoy!

The cheese room has 78 different cheeses and you are whisked off mid meal to make your choice. Decisions, decisions. Nimes is a lucky place having 3 great Michelin starred restaurants and Jerome Nutile does not disappoint. It has beautiful gardens with the tables set far from each other (which can be a little isolating). The highlights of the meal here were the veal, cheese and desert. At Skab the highlights were the fish, bread and wine list. So, if you can only manage one restaurant this may help. Personally, Iâd save up and go to both
