We stayed for two nights to attend a family get together. The Terrace provided good town centre accommodation, the rooms were relatively basic (no room safe or fridge) but for the price (which includes a full breakfast) we had no complaints. We were pleasantly surprised to find car parking at the rear. For breakfast there is a buffet with cereals and juices and then a choice of hot food â the usuals such as a full breakfast and omelettes with plenty of toast and hot drinks. It would have been good if we could have had some extras â such as black pudding â which we would have been willing to pay additionally for. We ate in on one evening. Between us we had a selection of dishes â oven baked cod, chicken supreme and lamb rump. For the prices, we felt that the dishes just lacked a bit of finesse and the chicken was probably a little more cooked than our preference, more a matter of taste than anything else. A big plus point was a willingness to keep the bar open for us, until 04.00 one morning and 03.00 the next morning!Staff were universally friendly and helpful and really helped make our stay.Thank you for your recent review. We are glad to hear that you were happy with your accommodation and with the service you received during your stay. We are sorry to hear that you did not have a satisfactory dining experience during your visit to the Terrace Hotel. If you would like to contact us and discuss any issues we will be happy to help. It is only with feedback that we can improve our services. We would be delighted to welcome you back to The Terrace Hotel in the near future.

had heard about this place having a carvery on a sunday and finally was able to get. absolutely briallant. you can choose from 1, 2 or 3 courses and very very reasonably priced. you have a choice of starter which is brought to your table after being freshly cooked by friendly waiting staff. you go for your own main course which is dished up by a very friendly chef. the plates were full with a lovely range of meat, vegetables and potatoes. if you are able to go for a dessert there is a variety of desserts to make your mouth water and take ages to pick one. will definitely be back on a regular basis.

Modern Irish Cuisine in the Heart of Mid Ulster. A unique dining experience in a cosy yet modern environment. Head Chef/Owner - Stephen Hope
Beautiful food as always in Dawsonâs. Quickly shown to our table, excellent service, fabulous menu. When we were too cold our waitress very kindly switched off the air con (sister of the owner). Food was freshly cooked, absolutely delicious. Excellent venue, superb staff. Would highly recommend.

A warm and luxurious interior with friendly and informative staff. For over 30 years The Elk has been at the heart of life in Mid-Ulster. A central meeting point for generations of hungry food goers in search of tasty food. Local and delicious food adorns
We are old traditionalists who cook Sunday Dinner but last weekend we were invited out by our daughter, husband and two children aged 3 and 4 and head for the Elk Bistro. The attraction for them, as a family was the appearance of two 'unicorns' looking remarkably like small ponies with single horns! But it was the food that caught our eye. Starters were self-service and brilliant. I choose the prawn cocktail but went back to sample the chicken wings which were top notch. Soup was served and came with a roll and butter. It was hot, first-class, healthy and inviting at this time of the year. The carvery was my downfall, far to greedy but glad I got to sample the various meats on offer together with the freshly cooked vegetables, cocktail sausages, stuffing and the best gravy on this side of the Sperrins. If I was to choose between the meats I would have to say the lamb was out of this world. For others it could have been the ham which was slow cooked, full of taste and goodness. Mind you the silverside went down terribly well too!Tackling dessert was a big challenge and eventually I turned down a host of appetising food on offer and opted for the trifle as I had been passing over this offer for many years. It was an experience, so well crafted together in a tall vessel and easy to devour.I couldn't leave without the tea and I am sure it must have been Thompson's. Brilliant. As for the two grandchildren it was some experience for them, not just getting a gentle ride on the unicorns but really getting stuck into the food which was ideal for children.Have I changed my traditional habit of cooking Sunday Dinner? A definite 'Yes' is the answer. If I was to start on Friday and cook throughout the weekend I could never deliver the variety and the quality of food on offer at the Elk at the prices on offer.

Typical pub fare, they do some items better than others. Caesar salad as an appie came with chicken, a little over dressed, but decent portion size. Squid appie came as small limp pieces. Chicken burger was large (and fried), the Parmesan and rosemary fries were a huge miss; Fries covered in salad dressing and Parmesan cheese is not what we thought it would be. Fish and chips, again, a decent portion size. Friendly service and a well stocked bar. Lots of cozy seating, strong wifi and clean washrooms.

This restaurant doesnât have huge appeal from the outside so we were quite surprised when we went in.Service was friendly, but they could do with someone staying in front of house instead of everyone disappearing into the kitchen. The food was delicious. Everything we had was enjoyed immensely. We were lucky enough to get the midweek deal - £35 (2people) for 2 courses and a glass of wine each. Whatâs not to like!
