The Old Bakery Restaurant with Rooms is ideally located in the Uphill area of Lincoln, close to Lincoln Cathedral, Castle and many other points of historic interest in the Cathedral Quarter with itâs popular mix of original shops, cafes and public houses
We have visited on several occasions. The first tasting menu was really good. the second not so. The third was poor.We decided to try again and had the two course a la carte lunch menu. The starters were very well presented and very good, however, the main courses did not have the attention to detail that I expect from a restaurant of this price range. A modest bottle of wine is £22 and two courses around £28. Two of our group had lamb, which was a little tough and I had the fillet of beef, which was of such inferior quality, had I seen it in a cheap supermarket, I would have rejected it on its appearance alone. It had thick fat running through it and was difficult to cut. Had I been the chef, I would not have allowed that cut of meat to be prepared, never mind served to a customer. At the conclusion of our main course a waiter asked if everything had been fine. I pointed out that my beef was inedible and nobody had bothered to ask how our meals were after serving them. He apologised, but the £4 supplement still appeared on the bill! This place appears to survive on voucher deals and presumably they are cutting costs to maintain the profit margin. There are plenty of places within a five minute walk that are significantly less expensive and consistently better. The Old Bakery needs to do much better.

Really lovely experience. Equal amounts of high praise for the staff, the food and the wine list. We're delighted with all 3 courses and can highly recommend the very easy drinking bottle of Chablis.Service was prompt and professional, but equally they were happy to give us a break between courses at our request. One of the best eateries in Lincoln, we will be delighted to return in the near future. Thank you for your review. Hopefully we will see you again, you can find our latest offers on the website!

Staying with family in Lincoln, a neighbour recommended here. So glad they did. What a wonderful meal we had. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is lovely overlooking Burton Waters, parking nearby. As a previous Tripadvisor mentioned, the pitta bread was yummy. I enjoyed the chicken souvlaki which was beautifully served and very tasty. My husband had the moussaka, it was just like we had in Greece, large portion so make sure you are hungry! Everything we saw come from the kitchen looked fab. Wine was reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back next time we are in Lincoln.

Kine is a laid-back restaurant and bar serving fresh local produce with a side helping of great drinks. Our menu is small but refined and will change with the seasons. Kine is a sit down restaurant which also includes a bar area which is a great place sit
We popped into Kine for an early supper. Weâve visited a few times over that last few months and on each occasion it gets better and better. Tonight we opted for a cheese burger with rosemary fries and 3 small plates- toasted corn with coconut cream, jerk chicken and a side salad. It was amazing, so tasty and some great combinations of flavours. I know weâll be returning and soon.

We are a family run bistro in the idyllic steep hill location, offering modern interpretations on retro dishes. With the finest seasonal produce and relaxed, welcoming service at the heart of what we do, we simply want you to feel at home here too.
On our last day in Lincoln, my partner and I went into this restaurant. The menu outside looked promising. Why? Each dish was apparently simple and I quickly found some savoury items I would go for. When I asked about the dressing for 'buffalo mozzarella, tomato and avocado', the waitress said "It is a pesto dressing". Perfect! When the dish arrived I found very little of the items described on the menu (and the pesto dressing) on top of a large pile of some kind of sweet chutney (not on the menu?!) When the waitress came to collect the plate with the chutney pile, I told her about my diabetes, As main, I had 'meat cheese and chutney', which I ordered without chutney. So, I expected meat and cheese. What I got was, again, a small amount of meat and cheese covered in a plethora of dips, dollops, chutneys, apple and beetroot cubes, a croquette, etc etc. Think of a diabetic Jenga, as I tried to carefully lift pieces of meat off the plate without covering them in sauce. Honestly, I was exhausted after this 'meal', not any fuller than when I entered the restaurant and almost in tears. The waiter apologised for the chutney, but then asked me, whether I want dessert (no, want to see pictures of diabetic feet??) I just wanted to leave asap. This really was the worst restaurant experience in a long time.

A 2 night stay in Lincoln with its stunning cathedral and castle and wonderful old town was made even more memorable by a wonderful meal at the Bronze Pig. Quirky name. Slightly quirky restaurant. Both fine but superb food well presented will always be remembered. The friendly owner and his restaurant manager added to the mix. Don't be put off by its location just outside the cathedral area. It is well worth the extra 2 minutes walk and the menu is different and superb. We left wishing that they were less than 160 miles from home.Thank you for the title "One of the best meals ever". Not much more one can hope for. Thank you.

I wanted to treat myself to a nice, fine dining lunch and this place was perfect. Beautifully presented food, perfectly cooked. The hostess was very knowledgeable about all of the menu and wine list. She also gave guests historical information about the building and the area. A real treat!

Of former Master Chef acclaim, Eamonn Hunt brings fine dining to the historic centre of Lincoln with his latest venture Eamonn's 38 Newport.
The new offering at Eamonn's is a lovely roast beef Sunday lunch- and it didn't disappoint!Well cooked (and a generous portion) of beef, roast potatoes, fantastic gravy, onion, peas, yorkshire pudding , carrots, broccolli and beetroot, all perfectly cooked.Dessert didn't disappoint either- a lovely mousse that I just had space for.Very good value and would highly recommend.Booking very advisable as places for this new sunday offering will fill up fast once word gets round.I'd say this is the best Sunday roast I've ever eaten out, way above the norm.

small family run restaurant, specialising in authentic Spanish tapas. Excellent choice of beers, wine and food in a relaxed, homely environment.
We pre-booked our table for four a week in advance to avoid disappointment as it was fora Friday night. We were very fortunate to get parked very close by. As after 6pm you can park in areas that normally require a residents pass etc. We were warmly greeted on arrival and able to be seated near the door as we requested with it being a very warm evening. The staff are all absolutely marvellous! Hard working and very kind and helpful too. If you need any advice on what to choose off the menu they are happy to assist you, as they are all knowledgeable, and have tasted everything on the menu so they are able to tell you about each dish. We started with a sharing platter for four, it was absolutely delicious! Then we chose six dishes between us, though itâs recommended to choose two each, we were pretty full! As the bread is so delicious too, yet quite filling I guess. The red wine was one that the gentleman recommended, & it really was lovely too. We were all too full for dessert! An absolutely wonderful experience was had by all. It was our second visit & we will definitely return. Soon!
