Find out what European restaurants to try in Lillehammer. Lillehammer gained international fame as the host of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games. Since then, tourism has flourished in this Norwegian city. Skiing is excellent, of course, but even non-skiers can experience the thrill of the slopes by taking a lift to the top of Lysgårdsbakken Olympic ski jump site. Explore the awesome collections and structures of the Maihaugen open-air museum or hike the Fåberg Cultural Trail to the site of ancient petroglyphs.

The place was very nice and made you feel as if you were at home from the start. The smell when you walk in is great and then all the chocolates on display. Very good food and the service was fantastic.

We had reserved for dinner with over 40 people. But we reached hours late. But they are very flexible, especially for Norwegian standard. Also unusual the usual fish, mostly tasteless and expensive in Norwegian Restaurants was quite economical and had great taste with a special gravy. The girls were attending quick and with a very friendly and personal attitude. OK, as in most Norwegian Restaurants. No desert available. Not even the local cookies. There was even time for a stroll through the pedestrian area with lively pups in two minutes walking distance

Lovely cafe, with delicious foods. English menu available. Comfortable seating indoors & outdoors. Coffee excellent, but cappuccino cups way too small. Should be twice the size. Charge more if needed. Foods are delightful and large portions. Great for breakfast or lunch. Do not think they are open for dinner. Wonderful pastries and very healthy meals. Lovely & Friendly staff. Thank you.

Simply superb setting with great service, we enjoyed sitting outside with the late afternoon/early evening sun warming us and bathing the wonderful park in a golden yellowOne of the best toast Skagen sandwiches I ever had (very generous portion and great presentation), the bread was firm and crispy (at first I was disappointed it was not dark bread like in Denmark but after tasting it I was actually happier), the shrimp tasty and the well spiced, just perfectThe baked salmon was overcooked but sooo tasty and yet again the presentation was perfect. And very reasonable prices, the combination together with helpful staff made this a truly memorable evening, I highly recommend coming here if the weather is good for a great meal.

Closed in 1983 - reopened in 2006. A short summary of something sorely missed. However, thanks to the efforts of local enthusiasts, with a passion for history, culture and quality beer, the wait is over and Lillehammer Bryggeri has been reborn. The brewer
This is the reviva lof the old Lillehammer Bryggeri, now a micro brewery with licence to serve aquavitt in unknown numbers.Local food, elk burger an a bratwurst from Ringebu and some local fish as well. Only open four days a week in the evenings. This is much based on local patriots and not run for a huge profit. Charming interior in the old cellar filled with photos and "things" from Lillehammers' industrial past all long gone .Of pipefactories there were wto G Larsen and Mesna.

Nikkers came by it's name because of the style of pants worn by staff. In winter they apparently wear the traditional high wool socks with ribbons. Today we saw what we would call capri's. We were suggested this place by our tour guide and decided to go right after getting settled in our room. We arrived at the pub side just as some people were leaving. Staff told us that the pub was booked for a closed group of fifty at 7 but they could serve us first. (We came just before 6). The ambience was very nice with lots of traditional Norwegian items and pictures on the wall and a moose head on the back wall. Staff told us the aim is to make people feel they have some of the country in the city. The moose burgers had been recommended to us so we started with that. Mine had to be adjusted as I am on a low sodium diet and the chef did an excellent job changing some of the traditional toppings to grilled vegetables and leaving sauces off. My french fries also came without salt. Both of us very much enjoyed our burgers . For dessert we opted for the lemon tart served with vanilla ice cream, hazel nuts and lingonberries. It was excellent. It was z most enjoyable meal with excellent service. Prices were a little higher than we are used to for a similar type of meal but we had been warned that things are more expensive in Norway. The bill came go approx $110. Cdn before tip.

The restaurant is one of the town's most popular, and is located in the old Lillehammer Brewery's beer cellar dating back to 1855. Guests can enjoy the best a la carte menu in town, but remember to make a reservation when you are planning a visit. The ele
We ate here with another family and enjoyed it immensely. We had the fajita tower which was very good. Also the seafood soup was delicious. My friend had Halibut and said it was the best she had ever eaten. Very high quality, great service and interesting atmosphere

We sat down at Heim with good friends to have a late warm lunch passing Lillehammer travelling towards Oslo. Heim is a cool modern place with dimmed lights and Gastropub is the right name. A modern place to meet and have easy tasty meals. Located ideally at the north end of the Main Street which is a must to visit when seeing the Olympic city Lillehammer. Many tempting courses on the menu and I ended up having the wild-mushroom soup with chorizo, spring onion and toasted bread from sourdough. Very tasty. Well done. Highly recommendable!Hei! Tusen takk for hyggelig anmeldelse av oss og for at du tok deg tid til å skrive en tilbakemelding. Håper vi ser deg igjen snart på et nytt besøk hos oss. Velkommen Heim :)

I've dined here twice and was very satisfied and impressed both times. There are not too many menu choices, which allows the kitchen to concentrate on top quality and efficiency, even when there are a lot of customers. The recipes are not really creative, but not oversimplified, either, with some nicely subtle sauces and condiments. The room is unfortunately noisy when crowded, with guests' conversations accompanied by a muffled rock beat. Decor is dark, rustic, and open, rather than romantic or cozy.

LYNG mat & bar was established in 2018. The restaurant is located down town Lillehammer, less than 5 minutes walk from Lillehammer train station. If you travel by car there is a car parking right outside the door. We serve 3 or 4 course meals, as well as
We had a dinner organized for 20 and more people and had the restaurant practically to ourselves. Two three course menus were on offer. The food was excellent, creative, cooked and presented to perfection, amazing experience of a talented and experienced chef. The staff quick, professional and attentive.
