It has been quite a long time since I placed 5 stars, but this restaurant really deserves it: it has been a pleasure having dinnner here.It has it all!The place is in the middle of the town but, due the geography of FontRomeu, the restaurant still holds an amazing view over the valley as if you were on top of a mountain. Obviusly you get a better view if you book the table close to the windows, but still you feel it from anywhere as the restaurant is not that big.Service is excellent, from reception to farewell, while keeping price of the overall experience at a reasonable one.Food is great again: every single dish was amazingly tasty and greatly presented. Be cautious to reserve some space for the desserts as each one is worth it (may be I would discard only the "pistachio" one..).Finally price is not that expensive for the quantity and quality that you get: starters are around 15⬠and main courses around 25â¬. Again, definitely a good choice, either for romantic dinners or -small- group events.Illustration: saumon trois façons for 15â¬Labels: 2eat, $$$, #french, #romantic, #views, #children

Nice little city center of Font Romeu. Come taste the specialties cheese, charcuterie and regional takeaway or in our restaurant. All the products we offer are either organic, artisan or farmer. Quality products that will make you genuine flavor of our Fr
Had two top lunches here - couldn't ski as completely stuffed up with a cold - nothing complicated but a platter of stunning regional cheeses and a glass of vin from an extensive by the glass list from regional, independent wineries. Service is relaxed, friendly and knowledgable. Wine list is superb.

We just stopped here briefly as the weather had changed and had a very long and relaxing lunchBoth Francois and Brigitte were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble - we overate massively and enjoyed some excellent wine. The food was rustic for sure but excellent - starting with a plate of charcuterie and salads and followed by an excellent grill with wonderful lamb cutlets.I just hope we get the chance to "chance-by" againThanks very much Francois & Brigitte

We had lunch at this delightful restaurant after a ride from Villelongue de Conflent on the Little Yellow Train. La Chaumiere is well worth the walk uphill to Font Romeu from the train station. The food was excellent and the staff impeccable. Highly recommended!

From the moment you walk in this place drips real rural French cuisine. This family run restaurant was a pleasant surprise for both the quality and value offered. Our children enjoyed excellent pizzas and commented on the crispness of the bases. My wife and I selected from one of the set menus and the starters alone were stunning ; try the "assiette de charcuterie" for an assortment of at least six different Catalan meats. Our mains were just as enjoyable and all washed down with a lovely Caramany vin rouge.

Yes it keepw the same cosy-mountain-french restaurant approach, with extremely good specialities and service good enough, but it is difficult to score 5 stars because they insist on pushing too many tables in such small place that makes it a quite unconfortable (need to stand-up to allow some others reach their table, noisi,...). Otherwise it would become easily the best in the area.Illustration: tartiflette for 15,20â¬Labels: $$, 2Eat, #french, #groups, #romantic

We went with a group of 6 and 3 kids to this restaurant in Easter. The place looks dark and not very clean but we were hungry and forgot about the looks. We ordered meat dishes and a salad and when the waiter came out of the kitchen with the food we couldn't help but laugh. The French fries were literally charred, and also some toasts in the Goat cheese salad. We didn't speak French and didn't complain (which we then regretted) but the food was disgusting and immoral to serve burnt food.I now regret not taking pictures because they would be worth sharing here.Apart from being a disaster in terms of food, this was pricey.Obviously we left without ordering desserts or coffee or anything. We instead went to a Crêperie right at the bottom of the ski slope (La marmote) and enjoyed a delicious nutella crepe and some coffee. Wish we had seen the creperie before lunchtime!

We went here for our first day and the attitude of the waiter very quickly made it our last. We saw people with sandwiches but he didn't want to tell us about them. He just wanted to make more money with the a la carte. When we finally got it out of him what sandwiches there were, ham cheese or pate. Considering the choice of panninis at Eden Roc for considerably less money. Avoid this place. The view doesn't fill your belly. Eden Roc will, with great food.On a positive note the goose gessiers salad was tasty enough.

The Ramballade is committed to the origin and freshness of its products. We favor local products. All our cooked products as well as our pastries are made "home" with fresh and quality products.
We ate here during our ski-ing holiday with our children (13,11,9) and it rates as one of our most successful restaurant meals as a family that I can remember. Two of our party chose the menu enfant - one with steak haché, the other chicken nuggets â both said they were the best they'd eaten in any restaurant. The others chose duck breast or lamb cutlets, served with a baked potato and sour cream and chive dressing. Desserts are home made and the biggest success was the lemon meringue pie. We are constantly searching for a good tarte au citron (with or without meringue). After many years, this was the first time my husband was not disappointed. The restaurant has been operated by new owners since March 2017 and is tucked away in the heart of the old village near the cinema. Wine is only by the bottle, but prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is cosy, the service is excellent (even when fully booked) and the prices fair.Chère cliente,Nous vous remercions pour votre visite et pour avoir pris le temps de laisser ces commentaires.Nous y sommes sensibles.
