A corner of France in the heart of Leamington Spa. Our style, the food, the atmosphere, the wine, is unashamedly French.
Went on a Tuesday night for their fixed âAubergeâ menu. Cosy atmosphere typical of an authentic French bistro (Cafe Rouge it is not, thankfully). Food and service both excellent and unpretentious and the place was packed for a Tuesday night. High Street restaurant chains could learn a thing or two about how to satisfy customers by doing things simply, but excellently. Starter (Ham Hock terrine) and main course (steak) both superb, washed down with a carafe of red wine and finally a lemon posset for dessert. Bill didnât break the bank and will definitely be back. Why canât there be more places like this?

Coffee shop serving great food and drink in an authentic Italian ambiance.
My friend had an omelette with delicious prawns and salmon; I had a simple pasta in tomato sauce and we shared a tray of enormous olives. The food was fresh, piping hot and extremely tasty. The girls serving were friendly, helpful and working their socks off. So impressed that I posted a photo on Facebook. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

We are a friendly and independent café bistro serving a wide range of Portuguese, English, and Brazilian meals alongside lighter options including salads, Portuguese savouries, sandwiches, Panini's, and a beautiful range of Portuguese cakes and pastries.
I visited with my husband for brunch, upon going to the outer we were told that we would have to wait for approximately 15/20 minutes, quite understandable. We waited over 30mins with out cup of tea. More people came, regulars, my husband said that we were getting near to running out of time in the car park. So he went to the counter and cancelled his food, saying that l would still wait for mine. I waited another 15minutes, still no food and l was totally ignored. Meanwhile other customers in the cafe were being served with desserts. I had enough and walked out just as my husband arrived outside the cafe to pick me up. Needless to say we will not be going there again, we wasted £20, that's a lot just for 2 cups of tea! Many thanks for taking the time out to leave this review, I can see from the fact you haven't even had the time to put a profile picture on, that time is very precious to you. Given that this is such a scathing review, I decided to fact check as such a review can be so detrimental to a small, independent, family run business as ours. Your order was placed at 13:28 while we were at full capacity of 12 tables, a classic sign of a lack of good customer service (I believe you and your wife had the last available table). When you ordered I was clear that there would be a wait of some time, as other tables were before you, and as you correctly stated we prepare fresh food. This is something I do with all customers when there are orders in, and at no point did I give you a timescale of 20 minutes, so that you could make a decision whether to order or not. You ordered nevertheless and didn't mention at any time about parking restrictions you had or I would have happily said there and then that it would not be achievable. I'm not sure how you came to your timings, as I checked via our CCTV and you left at 14:05 (37 minutes), and your wife at 14:16 (48 minutes)? Had you given me the opportunity I would have happily refunded you but you had already left without once before mentioning time restrictions, and your £20 refund will be waiting for you if you would like to come and get it, we're open 8-4pm Monday to Saturday. Feel free, as is your right, to post another review on trip advisor, I will be happy to copy and paste this same response so that our potential customers can have both sides to the story and come to their own decisions. If on a busy Saturday in the future you require a meal in a more timely manner, may I suggest the excellent Greggs on The Parade.

An intimate and cool environment comfortable and cultured. The food is really well thought out and the chef is clearly trying to innovate and surprise. Menu is limited but interesting and delivers texture taste and decent presentationA great spot for an intimate dinner. The chef is committed and perhaps s bit too chatty

Have eaten here three or four times in the past six months, most recently a few days ago. Lovely atmosphere, great (friendly, but also prompt and efficient) service, and delicious food. In the warmer weather, it is nice that they have the front windows open to the outdoor terrace. And I like that they automatically add on an optional service charge - Personally I much prefer this to leaving a 'tip'. (Although having a 'service included' price would please me even more!)

Serving local and seasonal food, with bio dynamic wines and small brewery ales, we pride ourselves on a friendly and informal service.
I've been to The Tame Hare on 3 occasions now. Let me start by saying I cannot fault the food, it is delicious every single time we go. However, the service is questionable and has left me not wanting to visit again. The most recent visit, we had the 8 course tasting menu, and my boyfriend did the 'wine flight'. On more than one occasion the kitchen did not relay to the bar about what course we were on, resulting in the wrong wine being served on the wrong course. The owner (i think) even confronted the member of waiting staff about the wine mistakes right in front of us, which was very awkward. Secondly, all but one member of staff left while we were still finishing our drinks, and most of the lights were turned off around us. I understand we were the last table in there and you were ready to close up for the night, but after paying around £100 per person for a meal you can't just force out your customers by turning the lights off. It made the atmosphere very uncomfortable and we felt like we had to drink up quick and leave.Overall I honestly don't think I'd return in a hurry, it's a shame because, the food is 10/10, I just can't justify the money on somewhere where the service just isn't up to scratch. :(Hi Amy, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the food, sadly the same can't be said about the level of service you experienced.I have just spoken on the phone to my father (the Gentleman who was front of house on Saturday) to double check what happened on the evening.I can only apologise for the confusion about the drink served incorrectly (my father is adamant the 'confrontation' was done at the bar area and not near your table) With regards to the atmosphere changing once the staff had left. The staff in question were my Father and his Partner, they both have full time jobs outside of helping us out at the Restaurant at the weekends so i wanted to make sure, as i always do, that they get home as soon as i can get them away. The Lights you refer to were the kitchen lights, these always get turned off once the last desserts have been sent and washing up done, but i am sorry this made you feel this way, i will make an active effort to not turn them off if there is a table sat closer to the kitchen, so my apologies for that.I'm sorry that when this occured it couldn't be resolved on the evening in question, we would have happily removed the gratuity without question and hopefully nipped it in the bud then and there. hearing that you have dined 3 times with us i would have hoped you could have approached us with this matter before resorting to TripAdvisor to express your dissapointment. We hope to see you again and we are currently making massive changes to our Front of house Service so hopefully they will be up to scratch next time for you.If there is anything else please feel free to get in touch.Kind Regards, Jonny

Family run cafe in the heart of Leamington Spa. Serving breakfast all day, with a range of lunch, mains and daily specials. Great coffee, loose leaf tea, other hot and cold drinks with a selection of homemade cakes.
We found this place by mistake . I ordered a large veggie breakfast and my wife just ordered toast and coffee. This was more than enough food for both of us with excellent hash browns, lovely mushrooms and really good coffee. Friendly service, nice surroundings and not expensive at all. We will be back as it was excellent all round. We did see the guy at the next table ordering a full English and it looked huge and really well presented. Well done.

Food excellent all very fresh, cooked and presented superbly. The service was excellent, with very friendly with an appropriate awareness to privacy. I look forward to going again very soon. The only slight observation is that the tables for two could do with being slightly larger in order to hold more of the delicious food and drinks.

Only found out about this restaurant by accident, so decided to try it. I've been to the sister restaurant, Tasca Dali, so, despite some negative reviews, I thought I'd try it as it is run by the same management so it must have the same standard. Tasca Dali has just won the title of best Spanish restaurant in West Midlands, so it must be doing something right! The management and staff were so friendly, polite and informative that I do not understand the very low ratings. Yes there were a couple of hiccups, (one wrong drink due to a new waitress, and the starters taking a little longer than normal), but the quality of the food, (with apologies and no excuses for the mishaps), made up for any slight hiccups.Nothing was too much trouble. Even paella, (which they say on their website needs 24 hours notice), was available which we took advantage of.We had starters off the tapas menu, (bread with alioli, black pudding and calamari), with the oriental calamari the stand out dish. It sounds like an odd combination, but whoever thought of it is inspired as it takes calamari to a completely new level, and not so much oriental but a slight spicy kick. The chicken paella was so moist and tender, with just enough crunch without being burnt. The best outside of Spain. I'll definitely try the seafood paella next time.In summary, I do not know what the negative review expect, but I absolutely had a great evening with staff that could not be more polite and attentive.
