Having decided we wanted a simple meal off we went into the town of Noirmouter-en-l'ille, and after a failed attempt to get a drink down the road (ignored by staff), we came across this little gem.The staff were very welcoming, attentive without being in your face and efficient. It was not the warmest evening and one member of staff was always around to make sure the door was kept closed - not much but much needed.OK, onto the food, we had decided on pizza, there was a good range, and the 2 that we had were spectacular (if you see my other reviews you know i like pizza). Smoked duck on a pizza is a bit different but very nice. Pudding was also very nice, again the staff were happy to leave us to have a rat between courses, he kept an eye on us, and was straight over when we ready to order - and it was not empty. All at reasonable price, can not praise the staff enough.

We cycled to This place from our campsite and were pretty hungry by the time we arrived. The waiter sadly forgot our order but was extremely apologetic and made sure we got our food as quickly as he could. It was worth the wait - the skate was excellent and Mrs I&G's fruit de mer were tasty too.Cycled back in the dark but decided it was worth it - good place to eat.

Stopping off on our cycle ride round the island we first stopped at the prettier restaurant next door but as it was a lovely sunny day we decided to sit outside at the more basic Bar La Cafeteria. I am so glad we made that decision as we had a wonderful lunch, probably one of the best we had on the island. Not the most attractive of places at first glance and a little rustic, but the food and welcome of the staff made up for the lack of sophistication. Basic - yes with a wonderful quirky decor of mismatched chairs, tables and odd pieces of artwork if you can call it that! It all added to our enjoyment of our visit and far more interesting that sitting in a sterile modern restaurant. There was no menu as such, you get what is on offer that day and it didnt disappoint. A wonderful plate of a variety of fresh fish with a side salad and bread. It was interesting working out the different species of fish - probably half a dozen - all cooked to perfection. This is the best of French food - no frills but full of flavour. Great value for money too.The cafe is run by a husband and wife team and they were happy to chat when we went up to the bar afterwards to compliment them on our lunch. Madame came out from the kitchen and we conversed in our less than perfect French for some time. Apologies to you both that it took me so long to post this. The best way to explore this wonderful island is by bicycle so on your trip head down to the south west corner and in the square at L'Epine you will find this wonderful place to stop and eat. I promise you will want to go back again we certaily will.

Would totally recommended this lovely restaurant to you. We both really enjoyed the lamb curry and croc monseiur...with a side of delicious salicorns. With super puds..cheese stinky and lovely, choc poi (a delicious cake) and a pichet of wine, we dined out for 65 euros. Tremendous value and a memorably enjoyable meal. Polite and timely service...but book ahead. A succession of excellent reviews means that it's not possible to ealk in - but do book a table...you will not be dissapointed. Even loved the bespoke loo artwork!

Looking at Tripadvisor, we had difficulties in choosing a good creperie, as loads seems to have poor service......so we made our choice once we went to that walking street, with full choice of restaurants.......made our pick on this place, that looked very nice, with an extensive menu.......Went twice, to make sure my observations were right at first try, to leave a fair review.....The food is really good, the "Galette Perigourdine" is quiet tasty...Service was good in general, the little brunette waitress was excellent, very courteous, very pleasant, and helpful.....Paid about 75 euros, for 3 galettes, 3 desserts and a bottle of cider and one of water, excellent value.....would recommend for sure, and will be back next time we will be in Noirmoutier......

This was our second time of eating at this charming restaurant in Noirmoutier and again we were not disappointed. The restaurant has great charm and the staff are attentive and friendly. There is a good choice of fish and meat on the menu. The food is almost nouvelle cuisine with smaller portions than other restaurants but all beautifully cooked and served. It is somewhere to go for a special occasion.

As we were staying at the hotel, we thought we'd try the in-house restaurant (although the town is only a stroll away). It was pretty much full which may have taken the management by surprise. On the positive side , the food and wine were reasonably priced, tasty and classily presented and the setting charming. But, although there seemed to be plenty of staff around, service seemed stretched. One poor waitress, who seemed to be doing most of the work, was not adequately supervised and kept delivering things to the wrong tables. Our main course went to another table who had ordered the same combination . So they got their main surprisingly early whereas we had a very long wait indeed ( during which the waitress tried to serve us our cheese). All was eventually well and we were offered a complimentary drink in recompense,so we went to bed on balance quite happy. Unfortunately next morning, at checkout we found that the previous night's wine had "accidentally" been overcharged by Euro 11, exactly the price of our 2 "free" drinks. Call me cynical but, well...

The menu is not huge but there is certainly something for everyone. Everything is fresh that day, and very delicious! The menu changes according to what is available at the market. Veronique serves "with a smile" in the very small (26-person seating) restaurant, while her husband does the cooking and preparation. My wife had the fish, and I had the beef. We both started with the tomato and cheese, and ended with the lemon tart. Everything was superb!

My wife and I ate here on our second nite after booking in the morning. Our hotel had told us that currently it is one of the top places to eat. The early sitting was packed with families. Despite this everything was perfect. Highly recommended.
