Our chef uses the finest, mainly locally sourced ingredients. He conjures up the French classics and gives other dishes an inspired contemporary twist. A gastronomic feast for the eyes and food for the soul. The restaurant is named after local poet Pierre
We visited with a group of friends from our car club. The Mayor had blocked off the town square so that we has adequate parking. The food was very good. The only down side was that my wife and I, because we ordered our steaks blue, we had to wait whilst the whole of our large table had been served. Some of the people on our table had eaten their meals before we received our main courses.

This is one of our local restaurants, finally got around to a review.... Eaten here on several occasions now and never been disappointed. Food and service has always been very good to excellent. Lunches are good value and dinners although more expensive offer a much more extensive choice but again offer value from a fixed price menu.Good choice of locally produced wines, either by the carafe or bottle.Always a reliable place and we never hesitate to recommend or take friends to.

In this atypical frame two chickens welcome you and offer you a gustatory turn of the best local producers. Everything is homemade. WEEKLY CLOSING: on Wednesday
This place is great - really well decked out, rustic French style, and typical, bustling French service. The menu looked good and everything coming out of the kitchen, appetising. The only criticism was the cost of the children's meals (possibly because we had 6 children under 5 with us), but they charged â¬10 per child for a bowl of spagetti bolognaise (which was excellent and devoured by the children), but â¬10, even for the 14 month old left a slightly bitter taste in the mouth.Great place to visit - I'd just recommend pre-agreeing the cost of any children's meals at the time of ordering!

We have been going to La Chartre for last 10 years, previously we chosen another restaurant here, but have discovered L'Estaminet which offers arguably a wider choice of better food far more reasonable price, delivered with a smile. We were made to feel welcome rather than patronised elsewhere(you work it out) for years previously.!!!

If you want a Sunday lunch in Chateau du Loir, you have but two options, and this is one of them. It is an old-fashioned late Victorian or early Edwardian hotel, refurbished with style, but minamilist, with two light and airy dining rooms, one of which was given over to a big family get-together on our visit. The food was first-rate, plentiful and served by a small team who were a complete delight. They were assured, confident, and smiled. It is clearly a popular rendezvous, and one can see why. Sensible wiine list, the freshest of produce on the plate. This is how it should be done.
