Find out what European restaurants to try in Kingston. Kingston is a city in and the county seat of Ulster County, New York, United States. It is 91 miles (146 km) north of New York City and 59 miles (95 km) south of Albany. It became New York's first capital in 1777, and was burned by the British on October 13, 1777, after the Battles of Saratoga. In the 19th century, the city became an important transport hub after the discovery of natural cement in the region, and had both railroad and canal connections. Soulful and Elegant cooking with a nod toward Gaelic Gastronomy. True and welcoming hospitality. Refined cocktails, wines and ale. Serving Dinner Thursday to Monday.
Bia is an absolutely perfect experience combining exceptional food with an elegant but unassuming atmosphere with friendly caring and professional staff. In other words - Manhattan culinary excellence without the Manhattan attitude or crowds. Last night we tried the roasted Monkfish which was cooked to perfection accompanied by two fried oysters. My other half had the duck which was tender and delicious. On past visits I sampled the salmon on potato boxty (Irish pancakes) which was popping with freshness, the venison carpaccio was tender and delightful and the lobster, black pudding and braised pork belly which upped the ante on what avant garde Irish chefs are attempting. Honestly the whole thing comes together as though it was effortless from the scrumptious dishes, the cool vibe and the perfect drinks. Welcome to Rhinebeck Bia. So happy to have you in our town!

Lis Bar is a tapas style restaurant and bar serving polish inspired foods, natural wines, craft cocktails and local beer. Lis Bar has both patio seating for when the weather is warm, or a stove on the inside for cozy evenings when its not.
Four of us ventured out to try this new Polish/Tapas restaurant and we were not disappointed. There is a decent specialty cocktail menu with some unique concoctions. The tapas menu has about 15 things on it and range in price from about $4 to $12. I believe they change up the menu quite often. Everything we had was delicious. Portions are a little on the small side so plan accordingly. We had 8 plates altogether for the 4 of us plus a total of 7 drinks. The total was $200 including tip. When sharing with four people some of the tapas only came with 3 pieces or 5 pieces. It would have been nice if there was a way to order extras so that everyone gets 2 pieces or at least one piece without having to cut things into chunks.Staff was friendly albeit a little inattentive at times. (took half hour to get water refill).Note: it's a small place and even with it not being full it was very noisy. One other thing is the small gas stove that was cranking out the heat so much that we were a little uncomfortable.Would have given them 4-½ stars if we could but they do need to work out some of the details and then we might be able to give them a five star rating.
