The owners obviously would like to make this into a funky little resort/cafe. They have some very good ideas and the place is looking nice.Didn't get a chance to check out the rooms but the cafe is a quaint little spot. Lovely coffee and some nice cakes. Location is not the nicest for a resort but once inside I guess you don't really notice ! Little bit tricky to find though I'm sure the local taxi guts will know it..Thank you for you kind comments, we hope you enjoy our small cafe and Khanom. Aalto restaurant is located near the beach at Aava Resort. The setting is stylish and the staff are polite. We went in for a friday night BBQ with high hopes but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The food was average, nothing special, and there weren't too much of choices. Not definitely worth the +1000 baht/person.Dear Timo M,sorry to hear about your experience and thank you for letting us know your thoughts.During the year all special events at Aalto restaurants has been improved a lot. On a low season when there is not that much customers, it might be difficulties to keep up with multiple choices but that of course should be compensate some other way. Local expats know this place as the German Restaurant or just Dieter's. Dieter and his wife are lovely people, the food is fantastic--the best schnitzel I've ever had (not just good for Asia). They also bake their own bread and deliver it to residents in the Khanom district. The view is wonderful.The only problem is that Laem Phra Thap is a bit off the beaten path. It's one of the places you can go to do Pink Dolphin Tours, but you need to get yourself there by car or scooter (unless you're on a hired tour). Dieter has parking for cars and scooters, if you want to avoid paying at the dolphin boat launch. All in all, it's a great reason to take a day trip up to the cape. The view of the cape from the road into the village is gorgeous, and you can chill out on the little beach near the village and look across to Samui. No stay in Khanom is complete with a visit to Dieter's. Ask any expat in Khanom for directions :-) (Note that the place closes down in summer as the owner and his wife go home to visit Germany)

This is the place to be in khanon if youâre willing to eat awesomely frenchy food!!The beach view is great, Julien and Stephanie are so kind with you! Definitely the place to eat and relax.Accommodation is available with so cute little bungalows. A pool has just been added to the amenities..Will be back for sure

Wonderful owner couple. Great service. Most importantly All food is heavenly good. We were in Khanom many days and almost every evening we ate in DG. Every time chef, the owner Miki, made Great food and drink recommendations. The desserts were also delicious. They even pick up you from hotel if you need it. We highly recommend!
