Made in Lucky is our little dreamy restaurant hidden in the marvellous City of Roses - Kazanlak, Bulgaria. Our Chef is in love with cooking and will make you feel at home, while you are away from your own, and at the same time provide the necessary cuisin
I was in the city, Kazanlak, for a quick getaway weekend with my girlfriend and we wandered around the centre of the city and came across this little jewel. It is a family business and the Chef is running the restaurant with just a few more people. The dishes were delightful! They have the European look and taste but they are somehow combined with the local richness of the Bulgarian cuisine. I loved the interpretations of the Chef. There are some traditional dishes, too. The place is quiet, kind of secluded, and is perfect for a romantic evening or gathering with friends for a drink or two. If it gets super crowded, there might be a slight delay but nothing unreasonable. I ate the chicken Marsala with the potato gnocchi and my girlfriend ate the pasta with salmon and capers. We have been to the city before but that meal was probably the best we have had there. Also, MAKE SURE to try the CHEESECAKE! It`s amazing! Again, some sort of a local home-made recipe, but it was lovely! The family was really accommodating and sweet to us. Good luck! Make sure to visit the city during the Festival of Roses in June!Thank you! It was a pleasure for us!

This restaurant has a really nice ambience with seating in a courtyard, in covered and uncovered sections situated around a fish-pond. There are Bulgarian artefacts around such as an old wagon and you are entertained by a live Bulgarian band singing both folk songs and modern Bulgarian songs. At times, people get up and dance to the music. The trout was excellent, cooked simply and we noticed they also served grills off spits (as in churrascarias). While the restaurant did have some tourists, there were also plenty of Bulgarian clientèle. I would recommend this restaurant. We are heading back tomorrow. For three adults we paid $30, including drinks Really good value.
Situated in the center of Kazanlak. Serving up tradicional Bulgaria cuisine.

The place is OK for trying local Bulgarian food, don't expect too much though. The location is great - right in the center of Kazanluk. The prices are reasonable, the food is OK, the staff is friendly as well, but you can not expect more than that.
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Some unusual and imaginative dishes. Very glad we came. Why do I have to type more to make up 100 characters

My son and Bulgarian daughter-in-law had been married in Kazanlak and celebrated at the Balgaran 10 years ago. They managed to assemble a large party of family and friends to celebrate again this year. We were greeted at the entrance by three young ladies in local costume which set the tone for the evening. The party was assigned a special waiter who worked very hard all night and was always ready to keep things flowing - especially the drinks! A Shopska salad awaited us and food was delivered at regular intervals. With all the entertainment, there was quite a risk of it getting cold but that was a minor quibble as the overall pace of the event was maintained and we were all enjoying ourselves so much. The preparation for such events has to be extensive but the Balgaran is set up for this. Along with us, there were at least five birthday celebrations too. The entertainment was excellent with two singers and a very versatile keyboard player, who blended backing tracks and his own very capable playing very well. A troupe of dancers in Bulgarian costumes entertained us and then the diners got up to do what I can only describe as "chain" dances. A fire walker followed and more singing and dancing. All in all, this turned out to be a great choice for such an important milestone for my son and daughter-in-law.
Welcome to Bistro ESSEN. Here you can have a tasty, traditional meals and drinks in cosy environment with nice friends and good music in the centre of the town of roses Kazanlak.
The pizzas here were very good indeed. Super thin crispy bases with stacked toppings. Reasonable prices. Salad we had was also very good. The menu was reduced during the Rose festival, but appreciated that as knew it meant we'd get served quickly and could get on with our evening! As it turned out the weather had other ideas, so we had a few drinks here after dinner. The young guy serving us was excellent - attentive, great English, and totally encouraged us practicing our Bulgarian as well, which was nice.

Traditional lunch When we arrived the terrace was full, but the staff was really welcoming and invited us to go upstairs. The menu is impressive, with lots of traditional dishes and offal dishes, which is kind of rare these days. We had a cold soup, a salad, an aperitif and a main dish. All were tasty and fresh. Prices are good and portions are big
