Reviews on European food in Kampala, Central Region, Uganda. Near the banks of Lake Victoria, Kampala, the capital of Uganda, is a lively city with a long history. Before the British, the city was the capital of the Buganda Kingdom, and remains so to this day. The city sits on several hills, each housing an important government or religious building. Kasubi Hill is the home of the Kasubi Tombs, a sacred burial ground of Buganda Kings. The Uganda Museum sits atop Kololo Hill, and features a hands-on collection of traditional musical instruments.

Karveli is a European style cafe specializing in German bread, French Pastry and Italian Gelato. For those who have been to a cafe in Europe, Karveli will be a place of familiarity and to those who haven't visited Europe, this will be an experience.
There are so many breads. There are also cakes and macaroons. Cakes and bread are very tasty. I think this is the best bakery in Uganda. The inside of the restaurant is also very clean and modern. But Meat was not special. It was rather dry. But salad and fries were very good.

This restaurant would get high rates even if it was in Italy.. It is therefore easy to me say that it's the best place I found in Kampala. Food is amazing, and amazingly prepared with local ingredients and local people. Staff is great and everything is set up in order to make you fell comfortable like at home. I spent there hours working/eating/drinking while having lovely chat with staff/owners. Let them guide you through the latest ideas they had or new tastes; or get the good-old-fashioned Italian style while sipping a glass of goof wine..

Been here twice in the last month. Order something different each time. Both times I was happy. Even the clear vegetable soup was delicious that my partner had. Service is good. They can get very busy but we were only overlooked after we had finished our meal. Hunting a service staff to get the bill was still not a big deal. Ambiance is nice outside. Definitely will be back.

The food was amazing and came out promptly, and the staff were very accommodating of our walk in party of ten people. It was a friend's birthday and the service staff even let us order a dessert past their last call. Definitely worth coming back.

Le Chateau is a top class restaurant serving Belgian style food. It is consistently above average. The bistro is in the top 5 for good reason.Setting is lovely, very fashionable.Staff are very friendly possibly if anything too attentive.Nice selection on the menu.I picked 2 starters,Chicken satay 17000ugxBruschetta 16000ugxSatay sauce was lovely, chicken if I were to guess Iâd say itâs thigh, bit chewy and fatty but nice starter.Bruschetta was delicious, really nice. Say no more.Main meal, I ordered the steak flatbread 27000ugxIt was cooked to perfection, base was nice and crisp.Steak was lovely onions were beautiful. My only disappointment was the price of water, Iâve eaten in 15 restaurants in Kampala in the last 10days and here was the most expensive 4500ugx per small bottleOther than the expensive water this I would consider to be top3 restaurants Iâve eaten in Kampala and definitely worthy of the position it has if not higher.

We visited Cafe Javas and order a pizza and milkshake. Both were very good. Besides that, we had an online meeting and the manager Monica was simply awesome. Kind, professional and attentive helped us a lot.
