Reviews on European food in Isle of Skye, Scotland, United Kingdom. The landscape is dramatic—even a bit moody, with the Cuillin Range in the background—but outdoorsy kids will have a blast on the Isle of Skye. Plenty of water sports are available, and you’ll also find great hiking and even pony rides. Portree, the largest town, makes a great base for exploring this striking island.

We arrived from glencoe and headed for something to eat. We dropped into this restaurant just before all the tour buses arrived.Very lucky. Service was friendly. Our meals came relatively quickly as the room filled up. Paid our bill upfront. Get there early before the lunch rush.Food was decent but not cullinary.

Welcome to the Harbour Restaurant Where Cristina Hermoso Escalas offers you a traditional taste of Spain, on the Isle of Skye. We believe in serving only the very best of fresh produce, all of which we prepare in our own kitchen or source form top supplie
Arrived across the street with 44 On a coach with dinner prepaid. Found this gem and dined in true Spanish style, the front manager Scottish and the mistress in the kitchen a diminutive Spanish expert who came out to sincerely make sure you were pleased, we were! Had the best thick piece of cod prepared in a fabulous sauce while I had tender lamb with apricots, prunes and other vegetables. Finished with a cream Catalan in a jar with thick rich chocolate.

The Old School Restaurant is a favourite. Food is fresh and delicious, service is great, and the setting is very unique! I have eaten here in 2016 and 2019 on trips to Isle of Skye. You will likely need reservations, as it is a popular establishment. I highly recommend you try it.

This restaurant was recommended by our B&B host. The food was excellent. My husband had the seafood platter special, with langoustines, squat lobster, smoked fish, fish pate, scallops and squid. He loved every bit of it. I had the duck special, with breast of duck perfectly cooked with carrots and raisins. The service was friendly. And the sunset over Uig harbor was beautiful. We were very happily surprised by this meal.

This is a seafood restaurant but with great vegetarian and vegan options. The veg options are tasty, imaginative and nutritionally balanced, which as any vegetarian will know, is a rare thing. The service is friendly and efficient, the location is great, right on the harbourside. It is excellent value for money, but make sure you book in advance.

Food is the crowning part of the Kinloch experience. Feeding you well at every opportunity is something we take extremely seriously. Claire Macdonald started the kitchens at Kinloch with a mission to make the most of the wonderful local produce on offer.
Iâve been fortunate enough to eat in a few high class restaurants in my time and can certainly applaud this one. The chef is inventive with his food and never fails to deliver the quality and taste expected of this caliber of restaurant.Thoroughly recommended

Scorrybreac restaurant is set in a beautiful location and is the perfect spot to enjoy wonderful Scottish cuisine served with a French twist. Our aim is to source the best produce that Skye has to offer. We will be serving dinner 6 days a week from Tuesda
Venue - the restaurant is tiny, only 18 seats. They seem to do at least 2 sittings per table - which I imagine you have to in order to make a profit with such a small place. As such if you arrive early you will be left in the small vestibule until your table is ready as there is simply not room inside to wait.Menu - it is a set menu, 3 courses with 3 choices for each. Given the small number of tables this is logical. If you are fussy about things it might be best to go elsewhere. There is a sample menu on the website to give you an idea what may be served.Food - we though the food was excellent, great flavours and well cooked and presented. There have been comments about the portion size - I thought the were fine for a 3 course meal.Service - Good if a bit automatic. When we ate there were two other couples who arrived about the same time and we were all next to each other - so we heard the same word perfect statements on presentation and removal of each course 3 times. The food came at a reasonable pace - we did not feel rushed.Cost - it is not cheap, 48 pounds each plus drinks. However I didnât think it was unreasonable for the quality.Parking - Some one mentioned the lack of parking - it is a tiny restaurant in the middle of a small village so you cannot expect parking by the door. There is free public parking 5 to 10 minutes walk away, or a taxi from any of the local B&Bs should be less than 5 pounds.

Our lunchtime food is vegetarian and vegan. We aim to source organic and local vegetables wherever possible. We have selected over 25 teas and infusions from all over the world.
What a delightful find, particularly for vegan / vegetarian diners. However you donât need to be vegetarian to enjoy delicious food and cakes in a beautiful, tranquil setting.

An intimate and contemporary Scottish restaurant with classic French influences in the beautiful fishing village of Stein, Isle of Skye.
I can't remember when I last enjoyed a meal as much. Everything about this lunch was perfect. Mid week, mid October, wet and windy outside. But inside is a little gourmet haven which you honestly wouldn't expect to find in quite such a remote location. It is so relaxed, no stuffiness at all. Everyone chatting and clearly having fun. Excellent service and brilliant food. It's rare to eat a meal where every course is of the same high standard and every element on every plate is equally successful and delicious.I take my hat off to the chef and thank him for giving me and my husband such a memorable experience. Now all I have to persuade him to do is to give me the recipe for clootie dumpling...!

Edinbane Lodge is an AA 5 Gold Star Restaurant with Rooms on the romantic Isle of Skye. Named Best New Restaurant in Scotland at the 2019 CIS Excellence Awards, the Lodge specialises in sourcing, preparing and serving the very best of produce from the Isl
This was just how I hoped my partnerâs 50th birthday lunch would be when I booked. I chose Edinbane Lodge over Kinloch Lodge having read the reviews. It was like a mini tasting menu and we savoured and enjoyed every mouthful. The heather smoked pigeon was amazing and the choux pastry eclair was so light and filled with brambles and hazelnut creme. They then brought out a birthday plate with two pieces of cake with Happy 50th piped in chocolate which, with a coffee, was the perfect end to our leisurely lunch. Next time we visit Skye we will pick a house nearby so we can come for the tasting menu and paired wines. Canât wait!We are so pleased that you enjoyed your birthday lunch with us and its lovely to hear that it was a leisurely experience. We'd love to see you back for dinnner. We do have rooms at the Lodge which would negate the need to drive and would allow you to enjoy the full experience including our very popular wine flights. We can also suggest some very nice properties nearby if you are looking for a rental. Thank you for your very kind review. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
