Stayed locally at Craigrowan and were recommended to try this local hotel restaurant. Enjoyed dinner on successive nights and ended each. Very acceptable standard with good food and wine and friendly staff

Another local Michelin recommendation failed. Highland Cottage in Tobermory is no longer open to external guests. Ninth Wave in Fionnphort is very overrated.Pennygate offers meals in a tastefully refurbished old house. Choice is limited, also wine list would benefit from improvements.Food good, and not one inch more.

Enjoy stunning views over Tobermory Harbour or across the bay and out to the Sound of Mull. This charming hotel returned to private ownership in September 2008, and is now undergoing a slow transformation back to its former glory. If excellent food, frien
What a setting excellent views down to the harbour and we were lucky to watch dolphin/porpoise jumping out of the water from the hotel patio and conservatory. Our 1st room rear of building clean but due an upgrade, unpacked then discovered problem with plumbing ie flush loo and basin waste bubbles? Reported advise unable to get plumber for a few days so we had to move to another rear room, smaller and tiny shower cubicle and even more tired but clean. Menus in both rooms, pick our meals but when we went for dinner we were offered a different menu when we queried this told that room menuâs were holiday weekend and was a mistake. Dinner was not great, starter minestrone soup was puréed tomatoes no veg or even pasta, husband chilli prawns were fine and main he had fish and chips but very greasy, I went for monkfish which was chunky and tasty. No problems with breakfast. The main areas of the hotel were well looked after.

At the Glenforsa the attitude to food is one of simplicity. Good food, cooked well and presented in comfortable surroundings - not forgetting quality wines! The food is mainly seasonal and the Glenforsa try to utilise the best that Scotland has to offer, w
In our recent week-long stay in Salen, we ate in the bar area here three times - one lunch and two dinners. All the meals were excellent, the staff were very friendly, and the service was great. And if you like aeroplanes, it's right next to a tiny airfield which (when we were there) had a biplane and a few other small aircraft very close by.

Food is extremely tasty! I recommend the duck! It's not the cheapest of places but the food is worth it. There isn't much of you're wanting a lighter dish or a cheaper lunch except for a burger or fish and chips for around £12. Nothing to order for our 16 month old as children's menu is £6 per dish with large portions which is not worth it for the amount she eats and as said there aren't lighter dishes to order. This wasn't too problematic as the staff were happy for us to give our daughter a packed lunch that we had in the car. All in all, food was gorgeous and we would return again for a treat!

Intimate seafood restaurant owned by Fisherman/Chef, Husband and wife team. The menu changes daily allowing us to serve the freshest ingredients, sourced from local fisherman's catches and crofter's bounty. Our Croft-grown produce and Organic Meats figure
We recently had dinner at the Ninth Wave, with great expectations and we were not disappointed. We tried the 4 course meal plus the cheeseboard. Lobster, crab, halibut..everything was perfect, combining freshness and creativity in every course. I've found the dessert based on coffee a bit too sweet, but I admit I'm not a big fan of sugar. The cheeseboard was also very good, a perfect conclusion for a great meal. Service is friendly in a nice atmosphere.
