Things to do in Inzell
Popped in on our first night of our holiday, me,my wife and 12 year old boy. He wanted spaghetti and the chef sorted it out as it was not on the night menu, good customer service and the burger was excellent, we are both chefs and we had no complaints

Running late but being used to Asia, we thought that dinner in Inzell is not an issue but close to 9 pm, kitchens are closed early, especially that a major even has finished that day and most of the guests had left. We asked if we still can get anything to eat and we could get something. Flexible and very nice, we left well fed and nothing to worry.

We just happened across this restaurant attached to Schmelz Gasthof as we were driving passed on the main road and it seemed like a quiet spot for lunch. On descending the hill, we found the place was packed with hikers (and most seemed well into their 60s) all getting fortified for their afternoon trek. There is no English menu but with a bit of pointing and reading a bit of the specials board we were both happy to stick to "Today's Specials" and at less than 10 Euros we were well pleased - and well fed. Like all the others we ate on the large shady veranda and despite the number of guests, service was relatively prompt. Importantly for travellers, there were good clean toilets.I wouldn't go out of my way, but if in the vicinity, give it a try.

Have been here twice now. First time was with a large group and special menu and second with my son. Both times the food was of a good standard. The veg rosti was extremely tasty with freshly grilled vegetables. It's a great place on a summer evening to sit outside for a meal and/or drink. The service is friendly and efficient. definately will go again.

Loved this cosy little place, so visited twice during our week's stay. Lovely wooden interior, and very pleasant staff. Had the Bauern Groestl on both occasions as it was so good and excellent value. Word of warning - premises are small and the place is so poular - so do try and make a reservation.

It's a typical Bavarian restaurant, placed on a nice hill, conveniently on the path to local sights. On Sunday, when we were there they had traditional live music. The restaurant is run by a family, I think that they are also the ones who do the cooking. The menu doesn't offer too many options and the plates are slightly small, especially if you go hiking.
