Dropped into this restaurant as we have been meaning to go here for a while and had a mixture of lots of things from the delicious Garlic Mushrooms, Salad, Kebab, and I highly recommend all the dishes as I didnât find any of them tasty. Situated in an area in Hove thatâs really easy to park close you will find it an easy experience. The service was good and the interior was really pleasant and you wasnât sitting to close together. There are seats outside and I shouldnât eating alfresco would be a delight in the summer and something Iâm personally looking forward to enjoying.

Had an amazing wedding anniversary dinner here last night. It began very well with a tasty crispy chicken skin nibble, then graduated to sublimity with two exceptional larger dishes:Fried chicken, gochujang, sesame, herb slaw, kimchi remouladeTamarind braised lamb shoulder, spinach, feta, mustard seed oilBoth were a snip at under a tenner each. The £22 bottles of Nero d'Avola were also delicious. The overall bill represented excellent value.Only been here for wine/cheese/nibbles before but the dinner options are definitely worth returning for.

We'd planned a brief trip to Brighton but Gingerman was fully booked in the evening. We went there to have lunch instead (from a lower cost but much shorter menu), asked about that evening and they said they'd fit us in if we came at 8.30. The staff were friendly and the food of the standard you'd expect from a place with a Michelin star. With a bottle of Bobal we had the pig cheek and clam chowder starters and for mains monkfish and partridge. All shared, for that tasting menu experience. A delicious evening and it seemed a very friendly place, staff and customers. We ended up chatting to the couple on the next table and the staff gave us a little 50th anniversary dessert.

Mekan Charcoal Grill & Meze is a Hove based restaurant bringing you to unique tastes from Turkish, Mediterranean and Cypriot Cuisine.
Despite having been advised that Mekan - which had briefly gone through an incarnation as âFishmekanâ - was seemingly a successor to the excellent Makara restaurant, once from further down Church Road in Hove, this was our first venture inside. Why the delay?⦠Well, the location has, over recent years, been the host of a number of ill-fated ventures and there was a worry this might prove the same. Immediately on entering, we realised that worry was unnecessary - the place, at 8pm on a Saturday night, was full and clearly the attendees were all enjoying themselves. The menu is extensive but we made some well-worn choices and were delighted to find the standard of Makara had been maintained. A minor downside is that the one-room restaurant is vast and the extremely high ceiling and lack of absorbent furnishings makes for perhaps an over-noisy ambience but the sound of exuberance wins over library-style silence for me any day. Mekan is now firmly on the ârevisit soonâ list.

We visited last week for lunch. It's not in the greatest location in Hove, but a high google rating led us there! Rustic decor, lovely atmosphere, fantastic food. Guiseppe looked after us well and we enjoyed the set menu. Excellent value for money, cosy atmosphere, great service and really good food means that we will definitely visit again!

Restaurant by Masterchef winner Steven Edwards Menus focus on using fresh produce from in and around the surrounding Sussex countryside.
Wonderful evening as guests of family friends. The food was outstanding and the service was delightful. We were taken care off by Beth who is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and the wines. It would be difficult to single out a particular course for praise but the beef with kohlrabi was sublime. Each individual element of the dining experience marries to create a unique and special event rather than just a meal. We cannot wait to return.

Semola is an authentic Italian restaurant offering fresh homemade pasta with a specific pasta machine and all homemade desserts. The management of the restaurant is organized by an Italian family.
Popped in on the off chance on a rainy Saturday night having heard mixed reviews. Were welcomed immediately and given a great not too noisy table in the window. Lovely atmosphere - casual but smart type bistro feel, modern and clean. Extensive authentic pasta menu which lived up to expectations and we are hard to please! - really appreciated the extra touches - big bowl of olives at no charge came with the drinks, water served in individual jugs with slice of lemon. Generous side salad (not the usual mean variety other restaurants serve). Crispy generous portion of garlic bread. Very reasonably priced too. We will return!
