We had a lovely evening here with a big party of 22. The food was average (most had pizza where the filling was a little sparse compared to a British pizza) but the service, friendliness and willingness to do anything they could made the difference. Value was good compared to other more expensive establishments.

It's all in the title here. Good selection on set menu including local regional dishes. However, not really enough food, although tasty. Problem on our visit was the service. Initially friendly, but very slow. We are experienced diners in France and are used to the languid approach to service. However, tis was very slow. Ages between courses and clearly not enough staff. Complete fiasco in getting the bill, and then a row with the waiter who did not accept that asking for the bill 3 times, 30 minutes after the conclusion of the meal, was a problem. No tip left on this occasion, which was a shame.

We ordered 4 pizzas to take away on a thursday evening at 8.40pm (23rd july) and were told there would be a 20mn wait, which we said was totally fine. When we went back to pick pizzas up, they told us we would have to wait an extra 10mn and we did. When we went back for the 2nd time they told us the pizzas still weren't ready, in fact they weren't ready for the next 20mn after that... Bringing us to a grand total of 50mn (we got pizzas at 9.30pm) and not even an apology. They weren't even that busy for the amount of staff there... We asked for a free bottle of coke to make up for it and even then they weren't chuffed about the idea. They need to sort their attitudes out and work on customer service. It's a shame because the pizzas were actually alright.

Fab place with a small but beautiful menu. I love these places! The bigorneaux were delicious and the anchovies too. We had fish and chips, very breetish I know but they were lovely. Cracking atmosphere and the staff are absolutely brilliant! Get yourself there for some really fresh seafood. Finally it's called aux moules for a reason and of course I leave the best til last. Fresh as you like! You MUST have these!

Nice place to eat with view over harbour. All dishes we ordered were good portions, very tasty and what you expect from a restaurant quality-wise. I did not have one closed mussel in my meal which has never happened before! Only critique would be a lack of meat options (or non seafood options) for people who might not like fish and mussels. Also their only meat dish was a bit pricey for what it was (22⬠for 300g entrecote). Friendly staff.

Had the oysters to start with which were the highlight of the meal, mussels after also good while my partner had the duck salad which although looked very impressive it didnt quite hit the high levels of the other dishes, very busy in the summer months and the service was good, the wine list was good but maybe not worth paying for the more expensive ones over the standard house red.

Advised by gite owner of this out of the way place and later in the same trip by the hotelier!Definitely a good find - essentially a lakeside setting coping with fine diners, passers by and families some with kids exiting for a swim. Probably best to book.In the heat clever use of ingredients - astonishing wasabi ice cream with soused sardines, lovely fish etc.

Eating in Hourtin at this time of year is quite restrictive. My girlfriend and I went for a wednesday night dinner, it was a warm evening, and the restaurant was surprisingly busy. We both opted for the 27.50 formule menu. The food was absolutely excellent- the duck main course was exceptionally nicely cooked, and a very generous portion. A carafe of house claret was just 5.50. Highly recommended.
