Reviews on European food in Hersonissos, Crete, Greece. Sandy, peaceful beaches and ancient ruins beckon travelers to Chersonisos, a one-time Roman port on the island of Crete. This is a family-friendly place, with plenty of activities for kids. The Lychnostatis Open Air Museum gives you the chance to explore the trades and lifestyles of early islanders. Exhibits include a herbarium, olive oil and wine presses and workshops on ceramics, shoe making and weaving. The aquarium showcases local sea creatures, as do the town's many traditional cafes, though in a completely different (and more delicious) manner.

Iâve been in Crete few times and always come to eat in Zachos for many reasons. Food is really tasty - real Cretan dishes - atmosphere is always friendly. We always had a lot of fun with my friends while sitting in Zachos. The staff is professional, always there if you need anything to make your lunch/dinner a great experience. I definitely recommend this place. :)

Skipper restaurant is located in the most beautiful side of Hersonissos, through our open space terrace there is an astonishing sea view of the Cretan Sea. Our facilities are modern using details and colors of the traditional greek islands. Skipper restau
I have visited here twice and orders both the meat and fish mix grill for two that comes with wine! Both have been delicious and service is excellent.Very good value for money and itâs a beautiful restaurant too, would definitely recommend especially if you want a mix grill.

Having spent a week at neighbouring Stella island we tracked this dusty taverna down through TA . I have to say we wouldnât have visited unless trip advisor had pointed it out as number one in analipsi Despite first impressions we had a wonderful lunch trying all their specialities moussaka zucchini etc and I have to say it was very good and exceptional value for money Service is at a laid back pace but worth the wait We couldnât wait to return to the resort of Stella island but weâre glad we ventured out and tasted authentic Cretan food

Called in for a late lunch and was very pleasantly surprised as I hadn't checked reviews. Didn't expect random choice of so many similar looking beachside restaurants to come up trumps.Great location, nicely presented with good friendly service.A couple of beers, wine, bread, olives & dips, Greek salad & octopus, spare ribs. Complementary watermelon and a small bottle of rakomelo, my new favourite Greek digestivo, to finish. â¬45 including tip. Very very good food. Great service. Really impressed.

grill house with traditional greek recipes. Taste the known kontosouvli, Kitchen baked on the coals.
We went to The Grill because our favourite place in Hersonisos was closed. We were drawn in by the delicious looking spit of pork and one of chicken we saw slowly turning over the grill inside. We went inside and I said the the guy the meat looks really nice, and he said wait untill you taste it, he wasnt wrong. .After looking at the menu I had to choose the pork from the spit with fired potatos. I know the Greeks are very good at cooking meat, but this was on a whole different level. The pork was amazing, nicely cooked over the grill with a few peppers in it and some lovely herbs to make it some of the best pork I have ever eaten. So good we went back 2 days later and we all had the same again. My son had a burger sandwich, which was a homemade burger made with 2 different meats, and it tasted delicious, not like any burger I have had before, and freshly cooked on the grill for extra flavour. My daughter has a chicken breast sandwich, and like the burger it was superb, and freshly cooked on the grill. The prices were very reasonable, all four of us with a lunch and drink each only cost 32 euros. The staff were friendly and polite. The service wes good, and the place was nice and clean. My whole family were very happy to eat here, and we cant wait to go back again. Thank you the the guys there, see you next year.

Mediterranean restaurant with a fine selection of mostly local wines and drinks. All of the products that are cooked, are carefully selected and bought by the hotel owner and former restaurant chef who cooked for 17 years.
Perfect food, we had fish and meat and it was all very delicious and really goodlooking. You see it was al fresh. The staff and Kate are also perfect. We share a cheese cake together, really good! In front you sit at the street, at the back front you have a good view at the sea. We totally recommend this restaurant!!

All I can say is if you are anywhere near Koutouloufari you MUST visit the Trap for great cocktails, food, and amazing service from Andreas and his colleague (wish I knew his name!). They are so hospitable, everyone has a good time, and not just because of the sweet treats and raki they serve ! I had the best gyros of the holiday here. They use local herbs in the cocktails. Itâs just fab and I canât wait to go again.

Open Daily from 9.30 am till 1.00 am, Close to the nightlife of Hersonissos but just outside the crowdy noisy area where one can enjoy a fresh meal and a signature cocktail with the combination of the breathtaking beachfront view of the sea and the sunset
Went to this restaurant due to the trip advisor reviews, was sat outside downstairs and probably the best view I have seen while eating right next to the sea cliff edge.Drinks were nice but a bit expensive and food was good too.Not quite 5 stars from me as just something missing in regards to service but defiantly worth at least one visit and the prawns are huge.
