We booked their best room for an overnight stay. We enjoyed a very good dinner and their staff are all superb and made the evening a success. Then the problems began. Their best room is located above the kitchen normally not a problem except this night the kitchen staff neglected to turn off their extraction fans.....imagine listening to a loud humming mechanical noise all night....we did not sleep. The manager handled my complaint quite well but suggested I was mistaken as the head chef said he had turned the fans off....obviously there is a wheel off somewhere. I suggest eating and drinking at the Milk House but beware if you are contemplating staying and if you do avoid the Byre room.

A visit to Tenterden is never complete without a visit to this fantastic restaurant where you are always warmly welcomed and then tempted with a wonderful choice of food which never disappoints. A charming restaurant with excellent cuisine and friendly service from the owner herself. The wine list was varied and both bottles we tried (the Portuguese red and the Italian Nero) went perfectly with the carpaccio and lamb cutlets respectively. We didnât try everywhere in Cranbrook but nothing we did came close to The Cloudberry.

Lovely restaurant. Charming building, very welcoming and homely with roaring open fire. Staff were friendly and attentive.Food was everything we hoped for and more. Really good quality Sunday lunch. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back soon.

I had called The Potting Shed while en route, to confirm their breakfast timings. Breakfast is served until 11am, reservations can be made. I arrived a little before 11am.. I was informed the breakfast had finished, but the lady checked with the chef for one last order. I was with a friend and a baby in a high chair, who were making their way down from the car at this point. A bit of a rushed order, but a good choice. We chose the big breakfast option- eggs, sausage, bacon, black pudding, beans, mushroom, tomato & toast. Canât really go wrong with breakfast, but this was great. Illy coffee is served here too, which was very nice. Our waitress was very friendly & happy to help. We have visited before, a steak night was our last visit, which was also a great experience. A lovely looking restaurant, relaxed atmosphere and good quality food.Thank you for taking time to feedback to us and glad you enjoyed your breakfast. Come back soon.

My partner booked us a table as a Sunday treat, as he had heard some good things about the place. The pub is in a really nice location in the countryside, we loved the outside seating area with all the pretty wild looking flowers. We went in for our lunch at 12:30 we were the first ones in, it soon got busy as there was a couple of large group bookings celebrating various things. Even with the large groups the staff coped well and were very friendly and attentive. The roast beef was gorgeous and the veg medley was glorious, packed with flavour. We really enjoyed our meals and the ambience of the restaurant. The clothes boutique upstairs was a great touch, as you donât expect to leave with a bag of goodies as well as a great meal. We canât wait to come back and try something a bit more curious! We also laughed at the car park sign, very funny.

We had a wonderful meal whilst reminiscing about our memories of living in this house 52 years ago (previously a greengrocer's) and seeing how it has been transformed into delightful restaurant. A special 60th birthday treat that was emotional and accompanied by delicious food and our hosts care and interest in recollections. Would love to bring back the whole family. Thanks to all of you at Apicius.

What a disappointment. Have had lunch here a few years ago and it was really nice, wish I could say the same about tonight's disaster. Service and welcome was good, even the time we had to wit for our dinner was ok but the food was terrible. I must say that before I start I have had over twenty years in the Hotel & Catering trade and I am a senior reviewer on trip advisor and never like leaving a negative review unless I feel it necessary. Where to start I ordered the Homemade Steak & Guinness pie, the pie filling was mainly gravy with lots of peas, diced carrots and about five half inch pieces of over cooked beef which was hard to chew and served in what only can be described as a packet gravy with Guinness added which had not been cooked out properly and made it very bitter, plus an extra huge pile of peas as one of the vegetables given to accompany. My husband & son had the Pizzas which were soggy in the middle and burnt underneath my son said he couldn't decide whether he was eating pasta or pizza and the cheese was not at all nice, the grand finale was a dried up piece of chocolate fudge cake, even the icing was dark brown and you could tell it had sat around plus the portion size was at least half what you would normally get. Needless to say we won't be returning, a waist of £55 of our hard earnt money!

The Three Chimneys is an atmospheric pub with very good food. Sadly, the overnight rooms have extremely thin walls & our neighbours in the room next to Partridge are - presumably unwittingly - sharing with us both their musical taste & their views on life, the universe & everything. Not what you expect in a place that charges this much. If, like us, you seek a peaceful country idyll, avoid Three Chimneys as a place to stay

It's been several years since we've visited The West House and the six course tasting menu which we relished yesterday evening has filled us with regret that it has taken us so long to return. Last night Graham Garrett was inspired creating flavour combinations and textures which were mind-blowing and very special indeed and we were still reminiscing about our dinner as we drove home this morning after an overnight stay in one of the restaurant's four comfortable bedrooms.Whilst the food is the star the wine list was pretty interesting too with some well chosen and intriguing bottles. The service is pleasantly casual and attentive but never obtrusive.We just loved our evening and we look forward to going back!
