The restaurant didnât open until 7 so waited till then And weâre seated at an upstairs table. Waiter promptly took care of us and his English was excellent, turns out he was born in the USA. Service was great and the food was well presented and tasty. Prices were reasonable too. Would recommend this restaurant in Orta.

This is a fantastic restaurant, with quality cooking and quality service. One of the two best restaurants in the area. It deserves its Michelin one star, and more. I tend to feel that the Michelin Guide overrates, that even its 3 stars often do not deserve it. In fact, during this trip to Italy I went to a Michelin three star restaurant, and Locanda di Orta was just as good, and far more reasonably priced. I would highly recommend it.

We spent five days in Orta and had four meals at La Motta. They are closed on Tuesday! This is sufficient for two people to get through all of their menu. We loved everything! Food is great, wines are pretty good, service friendly and helpful. Not to be missed! Outdoor seating is lovely in summer, but there is plenty of room inside too-lots of character in the rooms.

This is a lovely restaurant with great food and wonderful service. On arrival they offered us a complimentary glass of Prosecco. I highly recommend the prosciutto and the risotto with pear was divine. My husband had the black spaghetti with seafood which was very good. Also had local fish and veal. Very casual local place and lovely decor. The hotel recommended the restaurant and they were right. We shared a bottle of delicious gavi and bill was 130 euros. Excellent

The menu is organized to stimulate the curiosity of the customer that is at the centre of the restaurant attention. The renewed '700 bulding frame and a great service makes you feel like in a charming beautiful dream.The 'tris of starters' is a food experience based on the experimentation of various consistencies... wow!I am coming back soon to try further menu experience :)Strongly recommended!

I cannot praise the Al Sorriso team highly enough for their outstanding restaurant. Everything you could want from a most special evening was delivered. The traditional & classic atmosphere of the restaurant, the friendly and welcoming team, the enormous wine list and of course Louisa's food were all first class. We went for the Menu Classico which started with froie gras, went on to prawns, scallops, amazing pumpkin risotto, wonderful Piedmont beef, a cheese course to die for, a sorbet I cannot even describe and a pudding that was simply sublime. This is a traditional restaurant of the highest quality that delivers an evening to remember.We will be back!

E' stata l'immancabile location tra i 20 e 30 anni fa delle nostre cene di chiusura campionato. Da Paniga, dove ancora studentelli universitari si beveva, si mangiava e si parlava di f...antacalcio. L'ambientazione è rimasta anni 80. Il menù degustazione molto easy e forse un po' banale (tagliatelle speck e asiago e grigliata con 4 pezzi di carne ricordavano più una trattoria che un ristorante). Vino alla carta buono. Servizio lento. A volto meglio vivere nel ricordo.

Chef Cannavacciulo is one of the most famous chefs in Italy, a bigger-than-life character on the local Masterchef program. The celebrity status and frequent absence from the restaurant does not affect in any way the absolute excellence of any dish produced for the enjoyment of the guests, though. Traveling from south to north through the tasting menu will allow you to discover and enjoy the perfection of cooking techniques displayed by the talented and passionate team put together by the chef. However, the dishes from Campania on the a la carte menu are the ones that express the heart and soul of Chef Cannavacciulo. The best cuisine experience from a stay at La Villa Crespi will be enjoyed when two evenings are spent at the restaurant, one to discover the various features of the tasting menu, and the following one to get deeper into the life experience of the chef expressed in the cuisine from his home region. The sommelier is also very versatile and will know not only how to pair wines with dishes skillfully, but also how to sense what your wine affinities are to complete a more personal experience. Many team members are young and in development, but definitely with the capabilities and character to help the restaurant grow towards perfection...

We ordered a pizza kebab and a pizza naturale. Very tasty and good quality. Friendly atmosphere and waiters. Correct price. Nice you don't have to pay coperto.HoweverI would like to make the following suggestions:1) there were too many flies zooming around; something could be done about that; 2) knives were not sharp to cut the pizza, and the special shape of the forks make it difficult to put pressure while cutting the pizza; 3) waiters keep the place clean but it is not very tasteful that they use cleaning spray in the neighbourhood of other tables while customers are eating. All in all, a good experience.

We walked down to this lovely restaurant to check it out one evening (its a 15 minute walk from Soriso central). The staff speak very little English and our Italian is worse! However we were made very welcome, we had drinks and looked at the menu, they brought us some yummy snacks to have with our drink and we agreed to return a few days later to eat. (Total cost for a large glass of prosecco and one beer was â¬5 with delicious canapés for free!)We went back with the 6 in our party - all prepared, having photographed their menu and then translated it at home. The owner agreed bring us a range of antipasti to share - we had delicious little soufflé/tarts (2 types), ham with melon and also seared tuna. We followed this with various yummy pasta or risotto dishes and were then too full to eat more. Several glasses of wine plus a few beers, soft drinks for the children and then coffees were all consumed. Then complimentary limoncello was provided and free ice creams for the youngsters - our total bill was â¬170. A great fun evening with delicious food, despite the language barriers!
