Find out what European restaurants to try in Gdansk. One of Poland’s most beautiful cities, Gdansk, on the Baltic Sea, has played major roles in history, especially in the 20th-century. It was the 1939 flash point of World War II, and then in 1980, the birthplace of the Solidarnosc labor movement, ushering the end of Communist domination in Eastern Europe. Gdansk’s Old Town, painstakingly reconstructed to its Hanseatic League glory after being leveled in World War II, is a highlight. The 14th-century Town Hall houses the city’s historical museum.

We came upon this restaurant in Gdansk when looking for a good fish dinner. We were able to get in without a reservation, but one is recommended. The appetizer of marinated trout with beet root, caviar was delicious. My wife's main course was the best Halibut she ever had - buttery texture with risotto, celery, mushrooms, prawns. I had home made pappardelle fruitti di mare in a light but very flavorful broth - also outstanding. Our server was kind and friendly with excellent English and great knowledge of the restaurant's offerings. Atmosphere is sophisticated and modern. Many locals eat here - always a good sign, Truly a memorable meal.https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g274725-d12034043-r710003371-Correze-Gdansk_Pomerania_Province_Northern_Poland.html#Dear Neil what a wonderful review- thank You very much :) It was a huge pleasure to meet you. We visited the restaurant few nights ago and had an amazing experience. We tried the testing menu and it surprised us. Typical Polish products like beetroots and buckwheat elevated to the next level. The price was 198 PLN per person and we added some wine with it, so the total was around 580 PLN. Excellent quality-price ratio. Recommend it 100%

Vegetarian & vegan restaurant in downtown Gdansk offers creative dishes from across the globe. Beautiful warm interior invites our guests to stay longer and enjoy the experience to the fullest :).
Had a table reservation for this vegan restaurant in the old town of Gdansk. I tought I'd see only tourists, but at least in the evening I visited the restaurant most of the quests vere polish. I'm not vegetarian as my traveling companion is. I'll say nevertheless that the food was excellent. If you are a vegetarian this is a must, and even if your not this is an excellent choise.

At a place where cultural and culinary diversity created a new quality, which is a real richness of this region, the Motlava restaurant offers Polish cuisine - flavors that have permanently entered our tables!
We had a strange experience booking this restaurant. We had wandered along the river to make a booking for that evening as we knew this was a popular spot. The waitress informed us they were fully booked for the evening so we left disappointed. However, when we went back in to request a table for the following lunch time the waiter informed us there was a table free in the main body of the restaurant that evening. When we arrived later we were shown to a table in a separate area to the left of the restaurant, there were several free tables in there. I asked to sit in the main area but this request was declined. This area was partitioned of with sliding doors, lacked any sort of atmosphere and was actually very cold. After complaining several times about the temperature my wife was told we could move into the main area, where a table had been free throughout! All quite bizarre really. The main area had a nice atmosphere and was warm. After all of this the food was actually very good.I had a huge pork knuckle with very crispy skin which I really enjoyed and my wife had very tender beef cheeks.Wine wasnât great.Thank you very much for expressing your opinion. Any information is extremely important to us and helps us improve our service. Best regards, Motlava team.

The restaurant is small and warmly lit which gives it a lovely cosy atmosphere. We both had pasta dishes that were delicious. Pasta was nice and al dente and beautifully presented. Dishes were well flavoured and left us feeling nice and full. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip

Right in old town, a bit hidden, but not difficult to find.We were early and received excellent service as one of the first guests.Starter was a great and main even better. Received, on house, inbetween meals, some small bites. These were really tasty. With these extra bites, the total portions became a bit too much. There was no room for dessert. That being said, that is perhaps not a bad thing. This is close to a 5star, def a 4.5, but since we canât give that, we ended up with 4 because of wait when other guests arrived and slighty large portions.Great pricing. Please try the place!

What a find... a little off the main roads sits this hidden gem... We were two of very few tourists dining here tonight... it seems to be more of a local hot spot! Simply fabulous-Romantic setting, delicious food, high quality wine and relaxed service... the perfect combination on holiday-We were spoilt with appertifs on the house and accompaniments to start... a truly medium steak followed with seasonal vegetables, lentils and a mushroom sauce. We saved room for dessert, and enjoyed a molten chocolate fondant each too-The wine selection was plentiful-Two courses for two and a bottle came in at £90 in total- great food for a reasonable price. A super evening- would highly recommend.

Philharmonic restaurant represents modern approach to cooking as a sum of sensations, tastes, smells, textures and qualities of fresh, seasonal ingredients. Our authorâs menu is an invitation to a world of exquisite flavors of international cuisine.
I've visited Filharmonia several times.Few years ago they offered molecular kitchen and that was really different and tasty.Unfortunately they serve now regular food, nothing special not on this price level.Nice but not experienced staff. We eat much better at Gospoda (Plac ZebraÅ Ludowych in Gdansk) and we paid less than a half what we had spent in Filharmonia.
