Though at first sight, the menu at Wirt am Gries presents Salzkammergut standards, all our choices demonstrated the extra effort and quality one looks for in an upper quartile restaurant. The ambience and decor is that of a country inn but the service is very friendly and competent and there are new choices on the menu everyday (though not always on the english menu). The fish is great and vegetarians are well looked-after. The corn-fed chicken had an extraordinary amount of flavour. Local suppliers are listed on the wall to reinforce the commitment to high quality ingredients.Would definitely return!Thank you so much for these kind word. We are glad you enjoyed your time at Wirt am Gries. We hope to welcome you back soon, Family Tritscher

A pleasant outside drinking area right on the lake shore, some light snacks served from the kitchen. The restaurant was fine and the menu varied and fairly priced. Not unreasonably the lake view tables in the dining room were reserved for residents; I am averse to eating hot food out doors as it gets cold faster than I can eat!

The last evening we decided to eat somewhere with a lake front view and the only one where we managed to find a table near the lake without reservation was Seerose Restaurant. Was a very inspired decision because the dinner was spectacular...we choose from their selection called " Today Specialities"

Charming, traditional gasthof; a bit south of the town of Mondsee, a bit back from the Lake. Very professional, yet friendly, service. Our selections were all delicious: soup starters (a garlic-cream; and the "pancake" soup (pfannkuchensuppe?)); 2 mains with risotto, 1 fish; 1 chicken breast. With wine and dessert, cost was around E60; a good value for the quality.

We have now used this Restaurant on about a dozen occasions and we have never been given a sub or below standard meal, The service is nothing short of immaculate and the staff are just wonderful. I suppose the only downside when the weather is warm, is the lack of Air conditioning. However bearing in mind how cold it can get during the winter Months can fully understand as to why this has not been installed as yet. One of the things that I particularly like is the amount of space between tables and chairs, which allow all to move around and also avoids any intrusion into personal space.Lovely food, by lovely staff, make a great evening out.Thank you

Nothing outstanding nor amazing with the food though .So why is this early booking required ?Simply because you must sit there for sunset, and then may be continue with dinner. We had coffees, cakes and pizza. All was good as expected and the prices were not cheap nor expensive (as usual around 4 Euros for coffee, cakes, 8 for pizzas) but then you have to pay for the view which is truly exceptional at sunset. You can sit inside when the weather is bad but otherwise you must sit outside and just enjoy the last minutes of the day...At dinner hour, as I wrote the place is fully packed ...Last thing, the service is irreproachable. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is that on the menu my apfelstrudel was written to be served with whipped cream and ice cream which I was asked to confirm...But then I was billed for the ice cream ... around 2 euros ... not critical ... but still disappointing ...I have attached a few pictures ... Hope they'll help

Familiäre Gastlichkeit, regionale Erzeugnisse, geschmackvoll Speisen und stilvoll logieren in idyllischer Seelage. Restaurant & Ferienwohnungen.
We recently had dinner at the Brunnwirt and expected a more local, traditional restaurant, but were unexpectedly treated to a divine gourmet dinner....The space is very pretty, only eight tables in a decent size space. I liked that each table had enough space to be sufficiently private. The design is local traditional and looks great. They offer two five course menus, dishes can be changed, moved around or selected individually. We were very impressed by everything that came from the kitchen from the amuse (pickled herring), the ravioli (containing a soft egg yoke, I must admit I have never seen anything like this and it was DELICIOUS), the perfectly cooked lamb (the flavor was incredible) to the bouillabaisse, the veal fillet and dessert. The wine list was extensive and well priced, we selected an amazing Austrian wine that worked very well with the food.Service was very friendly and unintrusive, and still available and attentive. Perfect. As it was my birthday, they also sent a freshly baked cake, which was super nice and unexpected. Overall, we will be back for sure!

The Austrian â Hungarian taste empire is back in town! Let me tell you our story⦠Our family comes from Hungary. A Hungarian family living in Austria. What would everybody say? They would say, that we are simply typical foreigners. But here comes our spin
I have pleasure in commending this enthusiastic team of Hungarians who show an example in this area of how to welcome guests, service with a smile and deliver a very appetising meal. Although we only ordered two different salads, nonetheless quality was very good. As someone who relishes enjoying good Austrian wine, their Blau Frankish Holzner, by the glass was excellent. If you are travelling between Salzburg and Bad Ischl, I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant , certainly we shall revisit again.Thank you william! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal and Gimsenwirt and the Gimsenwirt experience :DThe Gimsenwirt Team is looking forward to serving you again.

While staying at the nearby Schloss-Fuschl (which is AMAZING) we wanted a comfortable place for dinner that felt "local". This was definitely it! Plenty of classic Austrian food dishes and other options. There was an English-language menu for us, but it did feel very non-touristy. Lots of locals having dinner. Servers were friendly and accommodating, even though there was a little bit of a language barrier. If we'd had more time nearby we'd definitely have come back again for another meal!

We had a great meal at Bierheuriger and the atmosphere was very comfortable and fun. They have other choices than just authenic Austrian food and for a great price. Our waitress, Eva, was very friendly and nice. One of the better restaurants that we tried during our stay.
