Very pleasant outside seating on a warm Azores noon. Grilled choices, fish or meat or both. The Cocido Furnas (mixed meat) was an exotic traditional Azorean cooking. The grilled fresh Sardines were excellent. Simple seasoning, excellent flavor. The boiled potatoes, yams. Turnips, carrots, cabbage, Brussel sprouts, brocolli added texture. Pleasant lunch indeed.

Restaurante Vale Das Furnas (Parque De Campismo), EN1-1A 1, Furnas, Portugal
The good: cozido, the traditional portuguese dish is good and has very tender meat. One dose serves two people well. The prices are very affordable too.The bad: you have to take a reservation for cozido or else you get nothing. The complete disorganization of the staff. They looked like lost beetles trying to find their way in the room. Sometimes they even had discussions among themselves. In the end the service took way too long. The mess was so large that we saw several clients getting their drinks directly from the service line. Heck, I think some of them were better suited to be waiters than the staff from this restaurant. The ugly: even though we had a reservation, they completely ignored us and didnât gave us a seat until we cornered one of the lost beetles, I mean, one of the employees. After they realized their mistake they ushered us to one of the empty tables. I never felt as ignored in a restaurant as I felt here. Weâve also witnessed a local Azorean guy menacing one of the employees to get seated, and demanded a quick service since he was waiting for almost an hour despite the considerable amount of empty tables. Maybe that is the way to go here. Physically menacing the beatles, I mean employees, for food.Stay away from this place!

This restaurant is by far the best we've eaten in on our trip to Furnas. The setting is tranquil among the trees overlooking their vegetable gardens. Linens and table setting are lovely. The wine list is good. The cocktails were amazing, each served with a special herb from the garden. The menu is sharing style, more like oversized tapas. We tried 8 dishes + 3 desserts and not one thing disappointed! Everything is tasty and unique. We've eaten in 2 Michilin Rated Restaurants and I would put this to close to that caliber. Service was also the best we've had in azoes. Definitely a must try on your trip to Furnas

Speciality "Cozido da Furnas".
We arrived to staff who came across miserable and not really interested. My wife has an allergy to eggs, she ordered a steak and chips, in the menu it had no mention of egg being in the order. So it arrived with an egg when she asked it to be taken off the waitrr was proper rude about it. Poor restaurant and poor experience.

Of course this place is full of tourists but if you've gone all the way to Furnas it seems silly not to at least try the cozido. Two of us shared the cozido for 1 person (they also offer a 2 person size) and the grilled squid. The squid was great. The cozido has several types of meats. All were tender but some were a little bland. If you go for dinner you can watch them pull the pots from the caldeiras at around 5pm, and I found the whole cooking process is interesting. If you go at lunch I believe they pull the pots around 11am-12pm. Would recommend making a reservation even in the off season. It can't hurt and you never know when they will have a tour bus full of people packing the place. They were booked the first night we tried and 70% empty the 2nd night, when we actually ate there.

Restaurante TN, the emblematic restaurant of Terra Nostra Garden Hotel, located in Terra Nostra Garden with unique surroundings in Furnas Valley, is a real Azorean pleasure. Let yourself be guided by the hands of our Chef Vitor Veloso and its extraordinar
Our VERY GOOD experience would have been an EXCELLENT experience if the restaurant staff had taken care of the little details. Fortunately for us, my pre-trip research and direct approach paid off. FOOD: After reading more than 100 reviews of the various restaurants in Furnas that serve cozido, I decided to reserve a lunch table several weeks in advance. Terra Nostra Garden offers traditional cozido, vegetarian cozido with couscous and non-cozido options such as steak and seafood. I pre-ordered 1 cozido meal and specified that my dining partner would be ordering from the à la carte menu. In this way, we would both be able to taste cozido while enjoying other dishes. After all, when we go to other restaurants, we donât all order the same items. Itâs more fun to share.COZIDO: It was delicious! The meat was smoky and tender (beef brisket, chicken, blood sausage, chorizo and pork trotter). The vegetables were scrumptious (collard greens, cabbage, sweet potato, potato, taro and carrot). The accompanying broth was flavourful. I could have drank a cup of it! After finishing my plate, I asked for seconds of the vegetables and the pork trotter. According to the fine print on the menu, customers can ask for additional servings of cozido. Other restaurants bring a mountain of food that becomes less appetizing as it cools down. So much is wasted. A LA CARTE: My dining partner chose fish soup and the forkbeard fish fillets. The soup was dark and deeply aromatic - better than the bouillabaisse I had in Marseille.FREE TICKETS to the botanical garden and thermal pools: According to the fine print on the menu, ordering a minimum of 30⬠entitles each diner to a free ticket. Our bill came to 64⬠for the 2 of us. When the manager swiped my credit card, he did not mention the tickets but I overheard him telling another table about it. He even brought some tickets to their table. As we got up to leave, I asked him about the tickets and he pointed me to the front desk. Preferential treatment? BOTANICAL GARDEN AND THERMAL POOLS: Using the free tickets, we were able to save 8⬠per person and skip the queue for entrance to the garden and pools. The garden is so beautiful! I only wish there were some lockers or more benches to put oneâs belongings. I can imagine how pleasant it must be to stay in the hotel and stroll to the thermal pool in the early morning.

This was the best meal we had on São Miguel (all week!) The food was delicious. We had sirloin steak with a local sauce and chicken with a creamy mushroom sauce, both had homemade chips. They also sell local craft ales (the pineapple one is worth trying!) And the staff were very friendly. There's a nice atmosphere with lovely decor too. Would highly recommend!
