Lovely as it is, this little country town of less than 8,000 about 75 miles north of Lisbon wouldn’t be on the radar if it weren’t for its most famous citizens: the three shepherd children who, in 1917, saw monthly visions of the Virgin Mary in the Cova da Iria pasture. Today, the site is marked by the Basílica de Fátima, where pilgrims come on the 13th of every month to honor the Virgin and her young visionaries, especially in May and October, when the apparitions originally began and ended.

Went to this restaurant for dinner and ended up going back a week later for lunch! The atmosphere in this place when full is great. Tables are close together in a couple of rooms. Food is always flowing out of the kitchen along with large wooden jugs of red wine from their own vineyard which is especially good. We had skewers of beef, pork and shrimp, Alentejo black pork and grilled fish, all of which were excellent. Homemade French fries and migas accompanied the meal. Prior to that we had cheese, melon, ham, olives and fresh bread which are hard to resist along with the grilled chorizo and blood sausage. You definitely wonât leave this place hungry. The owners are working in the restaurant and are very friendly.

Yes, the owner is a strong personality. Definitely an extrovert, she seems to have a clear vision of what she wants her shop to be. Yes, eclectic, but LOCAL eclectic. In a good way. The food is typical Portuguese lunch bar choices. It was Friday, so the ubiquitous vegetable soup was enhanced with fish and spice. Quite good and warming on a cool day, as was the rosemary! tea. Our toasty was on very good crusty bread, and large enough to share. Good coffee, too.

Hi! Good food, fresh ingredients, taste was like homemade cooking. Not salty. Liked the meats and the fish. The desserts were excellent. 1/2 (half) dosis is enough for 2 regular people (or 1 teenager). Clean place, very clean wc´s. Service very frendly and aiming to please, those guys work their butts of. House red wine is good enough. I'll be returning in the near future.

We were travelling with a group of students and had a brief stop for lunch before visiting the sights in Fatima. When we entered we told them we had 45 minutes for lunch. We were greeted by the owner in his football blazer, shown the menu, and were told what we could get quickly. Our food was in front of us in 2-3 minutes. The plates were loaded. It was all delicious! We had the chicken salad, the tuna salad, and the chicken and rice dinner with a small bottle of Vinho Verde to share. It came to 20 Euros ($31.50 CAD) for the total bill.If you want fast and delicious food in a fun atmosphere, this is the spot!

Located at 200 meters from the Shrine of Fátima, in the "new" Fátima's avenue. In a sober, relaxed and calm place, we provide you a meal where the traditional gastronomy keeps making delights to the palate. At Manhãs each customer is unique, and a pleasan
This restaurant is a great find in Fatima. It is just a 5 minute walk from the center of all the religious activities. The staff here is exceptional and we loved what our server recommended. Though Bacalhau is the ubiquitous dish everywhere you turn, we had the black pig and wild mushroom risotto. This was one of the nicest meals I have ever had and the server recommended a great Douro wine. After the meal the server offered us a great Porto which capped a very enjoyable dining experience. This a great restaurant for a nice quiet meal not far from the hassle and bustle near the religious shrine of Fatima

The O Convite Restaurant has been run by the same family for nearly 50 years. It's personal touch is visible in every detail, in it's careful management or in the fragrance of fresh flowers at each table. Chef EmÃlia, who founded the restaurant, has left

The Fado is a whole Lantern restaurant in stone, typical portuguese, with traditional dishes and snacks. The Fado Lantern has a different concept, because in addition to excellent gastronomy, we have to follow what most brand tradition in Portugal, FADO,
I ordered the wild boar sautéed with chestnuts and I also had a cheese appetizer ( honey, almonds and goat cheese platter). I went by myself and could not have been received with a greater warm smile. The couple working were super friendly! Thank you for making me feel welcomed. The place is perfect for families, large group and couples. I was stuffed and spent 25 Euros on food and a freshly made Passion Fruit Juice! Great place.

Nice, friendly and cozy restaurant. Modern design. Pleasant environment. Open kitchen. Author's kitchen.
We arrived just as A Cave was opening for dinner at 7:00pm. Since the menus are written in Portuguese, the chef/host Angelo explained everything to us in English. He explained how each meal was prepared and suggested we try the Vinho Verde, which became a favorite wine while we were in Portugal. We really enjoyed the starter tray, and our dinners were extremely tasty and presented beautifully. The desserts, coconut and pear, were equally amazing. We were so impressed with Angelo who kept coming over to our table to check on us and answer any questions we had. We felt as though we had our own personal chef for the evening! It really was an outstanding experience - our best meal in Portugal!Thank you very much.It was a pleasure to serve you.
