An open kitchen restaurant for those, who love italian dishes - based on traditional recipes - which served in light, modern form.
We visited here in June my husband and I were so disappointed in the service, or lack of it. On being seated we waited 15 minutes for a drinks order to be taken. No apologies for the wait. When our food order came they brought my starter and main both at the same time I had to ask for my main to be kept warm and the food was delicious even though we were another 45 minutes waiting on it

My wife surprised me with a dinner here - great experience! The waiters are exceptionally caring with the customers and the food is really special. I had shrimp for starters then a a wild boar ragout, all was perfect. And ask for a wish recommendation, it's a must here!

We always return here when in Hungary. We love the view of the castle and the main square, the friendly service, and that they cater to all dietary requirements, if asked. The staff speaks a number of languages too.But the best part is the food - it is so good!!They have a vast range of options, representing Hungarian and European kitchen perfectly. My favourite this time was the smoked hock slices with potato dumplings but I can strongly recommend any dishes there. We have always had a five star experience here.

Had a coffee and dessert on the terrace. Service is fast and helpful if you have any questions or special requests. On previous visits, the food was always visually outstanding. The cheesecake I got was on a stone slab. Only downside to this is that it was impossible to scrape off the berry jam. Also, the English menu is broken, with literally dozens of errors. Someone with a strong grasp of English should definitely fix all the mistakes. Other than that, I love this restaurant and look forward to visiting again next time I travel to Eger.

Brumbrum esentially a buffet, where you can spare your free time and watch sport events with a jar of hand made beer. This place is a café and ideal for breakfast in the morning, from noon small portions of foods are offering at the counter like snack bar
Food was very delicious however I have to give just 1 point due to the poor service we got today. We didnât feel welcome, the waiter was quite snobby. They should learn how to organize their tables and bookings. When we entered, the waiter said it was all fully booked however the restaurant was more empty than full.... so we sat and ate at the bar. However the food was really delicious. Pity for the service.

This place is listed as a hotel, but I could not find a separate listing to review their restaurant.
We ate here last night. Every where else was booked and another restaurant gave us the recommendation. They were right, good traditional Hungarian food at a great price. We ate for 40$ US, two drinks, mineral water, two soups, two salads, one entry and dessert. The wild boar with purple potato gnocchi and red cabbage, our main, was fabulous and plenty for two. The pickles side salad also stood out as did the venison goulash (which is more like soup). They had my favorite dessert panna cotta with fresh raspberries. It was super busy and the waiter was working hard but the service was good. Then add the people watching and live music sitting outside looking at the Dobo square, a perfect vacation moment.

We visited Kis Sziget for brunch, upon our arrival in Eger. We walked there from the train station, which took approx. 20min. It is such a cozy place! The people are super friendly! There are no written English menus - our waitress just told us what was on offer and we each ordered a sandwich. The food was delicious! The coffee equally so!Would highly recommend anyone visiting Eger to stop by! They also have Wifi (which was helpful, as we wanted directions to Szépasszony-völgy (the Valley of the Beautiful Women) and our waitress also gave us the names of her favourite wineries.

We had lunch with daughter, son in law, granddaughters and husband and I. The food was simply excellent and the service outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us and particularly the grandchildren. Anything we asked was possible. The meals were superb and the location in the castle was just magnificent. Not too pricey either and especially for the prime location.Highly highly recommend a visit!!!

My wife and I finally got to eat at the Il Padrino Pizza Club - on our fifth trip to Eger. The reviews and accompanying photos on Tripadvisor were pretty compelling, so we went there for lunch. We were quickly seated on the austere second floor, and the waitress was efficient in providing menus, taking our drink order, eventually taking our food order, and wrapping the few remaining slices for take-away.We had Gorgonzola e Spinacci and a Pizza Pepperoni. They looked great...However, upon first bite we were both overwhelmed with the sweetness of the sauce. A good sauce is made from tomato pasasta, tomato paste, garlic, oregano, basil, olive oil, and salt. Modern plant breeding has produced tomatoes that are naturally sweet, and are used by all major food producers in their products. There is no need to add sugar unless you are making homemade sauce from your late season homegrown tomatoes, which do tend toward the sour side.We quickly adapted to the sweetness, and were impressed by the outstanding crust, and the overall quality of the toppings.

Our Restaurant, the Macok Bistro and Wine Bar is a jaunty and youthful restaurant where international dishes are presented in local style with wine specialties which can be found only in the cellars of enthusiastic collectors. Our Restaurant is located in
Great setting right under the castle. Bright and modern space. Food was also excellent. Wine amazing. However, we did have issues with the service. I don't think it is down to the waiter to comment on what we order and how much we drink... It was a long wait for the food as well. Some of the staff seemed to avoid us presumably because they were not too confident about their English. Next time we will try a cheaper place as we didn't think that the service was up to the caliber of the restaurant. There is a wine shop on site as well.
