Bloody love the crook! Been a few times and each time it's relaxed, fun and just a lovely place to be. The food, for me, has gotten even better. My three friends and I booked for Saturday past and shared 12 tapas dishes between us which was more than enough- I refused to share my churros though! Staff attentive and chilled kept checking on us for drinks but without being annoying. Only thing we missed was the live music which must have been the only Saturday they haven't had any but an excuse to go back nonetheless! Well done to owners and staff for making each trip a great one!Wow! Thanks very much for taking time out to write this! As you know we have music on every Saturday, but someone pulled out at short notice last week and it was too late to get a replacement Anyway, looking forward to seeing you again very soon!

Welcoming, friendly and attentive staff in ambient surroundings. On our most recent visit we were visiting with friends for Sunday Lunch (13.00) - disappointingly and strangely two (out of three|) main courses offered as daily specials were no longer available? The food we ordered was however tasty and well presented. Would still recommend this restaurant.

A large group of friends were accommodated at short notice. Charming little bar with large restaurant tastefully designed. Staff excellent. Extensive menu and I would recommend the specials but they also do standard gastropub food. Wine and local beers were excellent. Good value too. Quality of food was excellent. Great ambiance in keeping with Dunblane.

Thinking of a trip to Vecchia Bologna? I unadvise it in the strongest possible terms. The food is PATHETIC. The staff are rude and IGNORANT. One of the worst experiences of my life. Make no doubt about that. The pasta was soggy, overcooked and cold. And as for the sauce? You could barely even get your fork into the stuff it was so thick and gloopy. AVOIDBORING !!!!NOT YOU AGAIN !!The girl from the " AVOID AVOID AVOID " " comment .I do understand that a run of 20 very positive comments for our restaurant must be very upsetting for you . :-)))But it is o k darling we love you and we wish for you and all the first time bad reviwers ,never to be seen again, all the best. The occasion for the meal was an early celebration and our choice was more than justified. Beginning with a warm welcome and a server who was well trained and familiar with the menu and the wine list. We had four different mains all well cooked and presented with hot food hot!! The starters included my favorite, a fish cocktail including prawns, salmon and avocado well blended. The cheese board included three cheeses of artisan varieties and a delightful chutney. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a great meal at very reasonable prices. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again and trying another menu item!!

We were visiting nearby Stirling Castle, and decided to have an early dinner on this great restaurant.The water was very friendly, and offered to make a small pizza for our ten year old.We chose from the early bird menu, and were very impressed with the quality of the food.The stuffed mushrooms, and Pene pasta with broccoli and Italian sausage was superb, and my wife enjoyed her bruschetta and carbonara too.Very reasonable and highly recommended

Our second visit to the Gallery.Last time the food was excellent, though the service was informal and unsupervised.This time the food was abysmal, but the servers were clearly being advised and encouraged by supervisors.I guess it is hit and miss, but whatever the quality, it is good value (especially if you have wine), and this time we felt happy to be doing a civic service!It is wonderful for these young people to have the opportunity to serve genuine customers.We will definitely go again. My mother and I were taken out to lunch here by friends, our first visit to this restaurant and it is difficult to fault in any area. There was disabled parking right beside the front door and staff immediately appeared at the door to help us in and provide guidance. We were accompanied by two elderly disable folk, one severely, but none of us had trouble manoeuvering through to the restaurant and settling at a table. Throughout the day the service was friendly, but incredibly efficient, with lovely touches of flair like being presented with a choice of orange or lime with our water.The restaurant is run by Albert Roux and so I tried 2 of his signature dishes. The floating Swiss cheese souffle was possible the best starter I've ever eaten and the lemon tart was subtly flavoured and also delicious. My roe deer loin with side bits and pieces was delicious, but the smallest of the main dishes ordered, so I was pleased to help my mother with her Yorkshire pudding and potatos. The roast beef was deemed to be a little chewy by all 3 who ordered it due to it being rare. Although I appreciate that this is intended by the chef, it would have been nice to have been offered medium or well done.The little touches made this a spectacular experience, the amuse bouche, home made fancies with the coffee, the ability to move through to the lounge for coffee, starched serviettes, etc.At £42 for a 3 course table d'hote menu, this represented good value for money given that an occasion like this should be regarded as more than a lunch, but an experience.

The first time we visited we were glad to snag the last seat inside. This time (following GOT and Outlander filming at Doune Castle) there were no seats inside but we found that they had moved to seats outside so we snagged one. Even as busy as it was we got quick service (as unlike inside outside was table service). I got a great bowl of soup and bread and my husband got a very tasty wrap of some sort. We would suggest this nice little cafe for a good breakfast or lunch or both!Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are delighted you enjoyed yourself so much the first time that you returned.You are correct in saying that not only do we have seating in the main cafe but also our rear room (which you have to go outside to access) and of course our outside seating for when the weather permits! It’s only fair to point out though that all areas of the cafe are table service. Thank you again for your great review - all the staff very much appreciate it.
