Things to do in De Cocksdorp
The dining room in the Boutique Hotel Texel is superb. The atmosphere is somewhat upscale pleasant, food delicious, and attentive service. The dress is casual. Like many fine restaurants, they didn't start preparing the main course until we finished our appetizer. If you want to move a little faster, tell your server in advance.
Kleinschalig visrestaurant: in intieme huiskamersetting dineren. Ons menu bestaat voornamelijk uit vis maar ook een aantal lokale vlees- en vega-gerechten. We maken graag gebruik van eerlijke en streekgebonden producten. Onze gerechten zijn puur van smaak
The service and atmospherewere both quite good, but the food was absolutely outstanding. The combinations aren't spectacular -there's nothing new about texel gray shrimp with a cocktailsauce- but this was simply delicious. The fish were fresh, the sauces great and most importantly: everything was in balance. Even the side dishes were great, especially the rhubarb really stood out. All combined it was a really delicate, delicious meal.

This is a basic, casual, kid-friendly, dog-friendly spot for pannenkoeken (pancakes). It's not going to dazzle you, but it will offer you a solid variety of pancakes with efficient service, conveniently located on the main strip in De Cocksdorp. I had sweet pannenkoeken (apples & cinnamon) and my companion had savory (tomatoes and mushrooms) and we found the food to be adequate.

Gusta is part of the Texel boutique hotel. As a whole a nice atmosphere. The recent updo works. Stylish and comfortable. The restaurant nicely fits into the what the hotel wants to be. It is clear that there is quality in the kitchen, both in terms of people and of ingredients. No need to give examples: everything is delicious. The only problem is that the little mishaps then are rather painful. A hair on the plate. The missing ice cream in the desert. The really really tiny amount of caviar in a starter that announces caviar and a suplement to be added to the bill because of it. And the time between courses is simply too long. But the tournedos Rossini is fabulous with its melting bad bad goose liver and the truffle sauce. More truffle perhaps? So yes, go there - also because the urge to not make even the tiniest of mistakes hangs in the air.

Beautifully situated in the beautiful natural areas "DUNES TEXEL". Where after a bike ride or walk on the beach you can enjoy a cup of coffee with our famous apple pie and liquor, lunch, drinks or dinner. Our extensive menu offers something for everyone w
Had dinner here with my family, they offer a very standard Dutch menu. The quality was good and we had a nice meal. If you're looking for something that bit special then look further.

A welcome stop on our bike trip from the lighthouse to De Koog. Nice sitting on the teracce from which you can watch your kids on the playground. But make sure to check out the bar inside! Nice dark brown bar atmosphere! Climb the stairs to (at least) see the Slufter!

We went here because it was number one on tripadvisor and ordered two dishes, the garnalen kroketten(Shrimp croquettes) and âiets lekkers uit de zeeâ(something delicious from the sea) the kroketten were substandard compared to what you get elsewhere and the plate of what we expected to be seafood was a small bowl of mussels, clams but mostly surimi! I find it crazy to go eat on a beach on an island in the North Sea and to be served a bowl of warm surimi that comes more out of a factory than it does the sea. When I told them that I was disappointed that I had been served a bowl of surimi, they told me that it was normal, and that there were some mussels and clams too... when you know that a kilo of mussels with fries costs about 22⬠in Belgium and the Netherlands, 12,50⬠for a bowl of warm surimi and three mussels is a bit steep. Maybe other dishes are better but I certainly wonât try my luck by going back.

Many visitors know the way to our cozy pub restaurant de Rog (English: Ray) in the middle of the Kikkertstraat, the main street of the village Cocksdorp. In summer, a cozy terrace on the village street and a second terrace on a beautiful nature were you c
Used to visit this "brown" pub/restaurant for many years. There was a changeof "local" management and we did not recognize the "friendly" atmosphereadhered to "the Rog". Other than pleasing the client, it seemed that we hadto please the "manager on duty". Our advise: You better change your attitude or you will loose your customer base.

I tried the lamb burger with garlic sauce in this restaurant. So delicious! Served with a salad and very tasty French fries. Very recommended! Staff was very friendly. This restaurant sells its own cookbook + a variety of local products. Too bad we weren't long enough in De Cocksdorp to have dinner there as their menu card looks delicious.
