Visited this restaurant with some relatives. The owner had some extra dishes for us to choose from which were not on the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the pasta's, really tasteful but the atmosphere we had to create ourselves. In spite of that it was certainly worth the visit.

We went to Darmstadt especially to look for the Art Nouveau (known there as Jugendstil) - we found a way to Wedding tower in Mathildenhöhe, but we were rather disappointed. We left our car at a big parking lot where we noticed a place where we wanted to get just a cup (or rather two cups) of coffee. It was rainy day therefore all outside tables of Café Chaos were empty, although after getting inside we discovered that the place was overcrowded, but the atmosphere inside was simply great!. Our coffee was also fantastic, but the customers at other tables had also excellent looking pastries, sandwiches and soups â unfortunately, nothing from those delicacies were available to us because of our diet limits :-(

This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path but we'll worth the drive once you get there. It is located in a fairly quiet residential area and we opted to sit outside under the umbrellas on tables covered with blue and white checkered tablecloths where friendly Italian-speaking waiters took very good care of us. The décor inside is equally delightful including very nice bathrooms! I ordered pasta with a salmon cream based sauce, which was a very generous serving. My bf wasn't quite as happy with the size of his portion of pasta and ended up ordering a second choice to follow. I think the first dish had a simple tomato sauce and the second was his standby, "Aglio e Olio", which he said was not the best he's ever had.

We went here for a work dinner and drinks. The beer was outstanding. Great seasonal beers as well. Place was clean an warm (inviting). Beer was old and tasted clean. For dinner, traditional German foods. If you are looking for an unpretentious, if a a little boisterous time, this is your place.

A typical Gasthaus: solid wooden tables and benches; beer coasters, eternally unchanging German atmosphere of "Bierstube" (this is a positive statement!). Quick service; dishes are inexpensive, tasty, generous. And the beer is good, too!I thought Flammeküche was specific to Elsass, but you get it here, too; paperthin down, good toppings.

High marks for this friendly and cozy vegetarian restaurant. The menu is internationally inspired and the ingredients are excellent and carefully prepared. There is outside seating that is covered with a heated tent when it is chilly. Prices are moderate and attitude is casual. Definitely recommend.

I had a delicious red lentil soup with noodles in Datmstadt, served together with delicious bread and a side salad. It is more a cafe than a restaurant, but it is cosy and very popular with a mixed clientele. i will go back as soon as I am back in Darmstadt again!

Iâve stopped here several times during my travels to Darmstadt, including twice for dinner my last visit late May. I love the setting, both the outdoor communal seating outside on the marketplace or the indoor seating within the historic old building. The food, while fairly basic, is really good in my opinion. And I love the beers. The service is always amazing efficient. If I lived close to this place I would be in real trouble. But I would like to live closer...and be able to stop by more often.

Have been here twice for dinner. Both times the food was unique, well presented, nice portions (not too big nor small), well paired. My last visit there was a menu for the day for a reasonable price. It included an appetizer, a salad, main entree (I had chicken with vegetables), a souffle dessert, and wine. The restaurant is cozy by friendly atmosphere. The owner met us at the door and was most hospitable. Nice place for dinner!

Another week in this Vibrant City....on Tuesday a visit with 2 colleagues for a really great meal.To start I had the sardines from the daily menu: absolutely wonderful and to be honest a larger plate would have made a fine main course. I followed with the mixed fish plate: 5 fish all perfectly cooked - even the octopus tentacle which can so easily be rubber. The service was friendly and flawless, particularly the wine waiter's performance. So, on Thursday I went back with a colleague, rather than go on the organised party to a Beer Garden. I don't really like beer.....and my colleague is allergic to all things dairy. They understood and explained what she might enjoy, and what to avoid. She had a great meal and left very happy. So again for me the sardines, followed by a perfectly cooked lump of fillet steak. If only all fillet steak was as good.....My colleague had the tuna tatar as a first course followed by pasta with prawns and snow crab claw. Glorious! Price? Acceptable, for 2 including a bottle of wine and coffee about Euros 120. I'll be back.
