This highly rated Bistro lived up to the expectations and then some!! We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. The setting is both unique and charming. The staff friendly and very helpful in understanding the menu with great recommendations. Food quality outstanding and surprisingly reasonably priced. We will certainly visit this restaurant in the future.

Let's start with the cuisine: excellent. Herring sliders nice, petite, fresh. Porkball appetizer reminiscent of a spherical piece of Philly scrapple, if a bit mushy. The braised/fried chicken thighs were tasty, ample, hot/ fresh, served over delicious, creamy mushroom barley risotto. My wife liked her meatballs with potato-- carrot.Dessert of dark chocolate bark with toffee exquisite. This said, the space is small and crowded, very noisy, so you shout ( not a rug or wall piece or textile of any kind to absorb sound). You will likely have a constant stream of servers or customers walking past your back as you sit, and it's darkly lit, tough to see and discern your dish. On balance, very good food, different, fresh; but they need to invest in more space and interior upgrades to create a more pleasant place -- less work-- to dine.

Located in University City, Louie Louie is an American bistro with a French inspired menu offering seasonal, ingredient-inspired dishes based on a classical combination of flavors created by Culinary Directors Clark Gilbert and Ralph Fernandez. House-made
Husbandâs cassoulet was excellent my steak frites was ok. The French fries ( I ordered them without the truffles so got basic fries. Over cooked and nothing special. The creamer brûlée had good texture, but too much vanilla. Very attractive restaurant, a bit too loud. Good service.
