Other reviews are glowing and rightly so.The fish dishes are well executed and presented. The wine list is short and fairly priced.Only suggestion would be for the restaurant to amend the menu if slight changes are made to any of the dishes.

Claytons & The Glasshouse offer some of the finest food and drink experiences available in North Devon. We stock a wide range of spirits, beers, wines and ciders to suit every taste, whilst our Head Chef rustles up some truly special dishes in the kitchen
We were in Barnstaple for a couple of days and wanted somewhere nice to eat, and preferably an independent establishment. We came across Clayton and the Glasshouse of a side street. We were quite late for lunch but impressed with the choices which included several fish options and a âchefs choiceâ. The food was really tasty and served with a nice selection of well cooked veg. The wine we ordered was lovely. Service was great, nice friendly staff who offered to show us the amazing roof terrace, lots of glass, a covered and open area, we will go back just to eat upstairs! All in all we really enjoyed this place and so happy to find somewhere that wasnât your same old chain food!Thank you for your review! We had scallops, the daily fish option and a great steak - all the food was attractively presented and good value for the quality.

Mel and I come to Memories whenever we travel down to see my mother who lives locally. As usual, last night's visit was excellent, the main course 'special' was locally-caught fish cooked perfectly. As always, a friendly reception with good atmosphere. We were lucky, as we phoned to book earlier in the week and the restaurant was full, however, Naomi remembered our enquiry and called back when there had been cancellation, to offer us a table. The 'review' from 'good food hero' does not reflect my experience.

Beautifully made mini sandwiches and cakes that were to die for and a bottle of bubbly too Couldnt eat it all and this was no problem as it was boxed up to tale away too!Thank you so much.we will be back Thank you for your recent review, we are delighted to read that you enjoyed your birthday Afternoon Tea at the Watersmeet. We are pleased Ania assisted with the arrangements ensuring the occasion was made perfect and that the Restaurant team provided a fantastic service on the day. Nestled within the Woolacombe Bay Hotel you will find The Bay Brasserie & Bar, the more relaxed of our two restaurants. Spacious and stylish yet seriously relaxed, The Bay Brasserie is the place to sit back, share a toast with friends and treat your taste
We visited for dinner on our last but one night during a week stop in Woolacombe and wish we had come earlier, so that we could have squeezed in another visit. We loved the atmosphere. The main dining room was lovely, airy and spacious which was a great contrast to some of the packed pubs and restaurants we had visited during the week. The service was fantastic, with all staff being formal yet polite and friendly. The quality of food was excellent. I had the pork belly, which was delicious and plentiful, and the duck carpaccio salad, which was tasty - although a small detail the fresh raspberries we're missing as described in the menu which was a slight disappointment. The childrens meals we're also great, it took a lot of willpower not to eat my daughters fish fingers - freshly made with huge chunks of flaky white fish and crispy batter - no Captain Birdseye here!Deserts we're also delicious. My only constructive feedback would be around the portion sizes of the children's menu which just seemed massively inconsistent. The fishfinger meal was huge, it would have served an adult - this was for our toddler so was way too much, which we're not complaining about. However the tagliatelle our 9 year old picked from the children's menu, whilst tasty, was a really small portion. Considering the main ingredient is as cheap as chips (well pasta) it wouldn't have hurt to increase the portion size here. The waiter recommended bringing the childrens meals out with our starters - the logic being that they usually take forever to eat their meals. However on this occasion the tagliatelle was polished off in about 5 minutes there was that little of it, before we had even finished our starters, so our daughter was sat bored and still hungry - we ended up ordering her an additional garlic bread, which we had to ask for again and this eventually turned up after about 25 minutes.Likewise the childrens deserts - our eldest's sticky toffee pudding was reduced in size, whilst the Eton mess our toddler had was huge and most of it went to waste.Again this is just constructive feedback as overall we really enjoyed our evening and the food. It was very reasonably priced too, pretty much in line with some of the local pubs in the village but much better quality.

I remember saying to Greg compliments to the chef as our meal was so nice, he took me to meet the chef ( great touch).I know heâs not been there long so I wish you all the best Greg you worked extremely hard that night.Kevin from KentHi Kevin, glad to hear you enjoyed your dining experience with us. In August in Croyde, every restaurant should be packed out and this one wasn't. It's a shame as the service was friendly and efficient and the food was decent. The lamb with roast potatoes and vegetables was very tasty. The whitebait starters were great. It's seems little more expensive than the neighbouring restaurants and it's hard to justify the extra because they are good too (if you can get a table) . It also lacks atmosphere because it is quite empty even though it's small. It would be great for a romantic twosome on a special date but that isn't what's happening in Croyde in August.
