Staff are efficient and pleasant. The pizzas are actually pretty good - they aren't deep crust but thin with good topping on. I was told the dough is rolled rather than spun though, so you end up with crinkly edges, but that didn't matter. The ingredients aren't top notch but the price is fair considering (around 8.50 - 9.50 for a large pizza) and you know with the rain pouring down the windows we were more than happy with our meal. The coupettes of Cremante make a great start and are only 2.70euros a glass. The choice of wines are very good and the ambience congenial. Service stops at 2pm and starts again at 6pm. They are open every day which is a boon on a Monday when everything seems to be closed.

I first visited this resturant in 1990 and then it was very good, with the most wonderful pizzas. I can't say that today. The food was ok but nothing special. In my oppinion this restaurant has slowly degenerated.

It was mid-week evening. The place was not full. However, it took forever to be served. Food was good.

We had a stop-over for lunch. On the outside, the hotel-restaurant looks a bit "so-so", but once inside, it is tastefully decorated and - I think - recently upgraded/renovated. It is beautifully located at a river. The service was excellent, the choice of menus mouthwatering. I would not hesitate to go there again or even consider spending a night.

Almost everything served at Le Pain sur la Table is organic and locally sourced. Every day at lunch there is a limited but tasty selection. Sometimes during the high season (June, July, August) the wait is long as the kitchen gets overwhelmed since everything is prepared fresh to order, so don't come if you're in a hurry. But if you like interesting, healthy, organic food that is also delicious, this is your best bet for miles around for that sort of fare. It is also a bakery which makes fantastic bread. I almost choked and spurted coffee out my nose when I read the negative review claiming the food was bland -- au contraire, this is one of the few French restaurants around that isn't afraid to use fresh herbs and spices in refreshingly original ways. I've never had a bad meal here and I must have enjoyed lunch here about 20 times.

My friends and I stumbled upon this place going for an evening walk and we fell in love! The atmosphere is relaxing, the food is amazing, all of the staff is very friendly and we went back multiple times! Unfortunately, we found out the hard way that it's not open every night. But it was an end of the week treat! I was in a group of six and everyone loved their dish every time we went. And it had such a relaxing atmosphere, we just kept ordering desserts and drinks at the end! Highly recommend visiting for a lovely Italian meal!

This is a very interesting restaurant located close to the Abby de Cluny. Has nice old style atmosphere with large wooden beams in the dining room we were seated. The service is good, the food was nice, not exceptional, and the prices are reasonable. A good choice when visiting Cluny for a nice lunch. It has some outdoor seating area that would be nice on any warm and sunny day.

Enjoyed a one plate lunch here following a visit the the nearby Abbey. Nicely done steak tartare with very good chips washed down with a welcome chilled beer. Nice service and good washrooms.

Stopped here, right in the middle of Cluny's main street, for a relax and refresh on a very hot afternoon. Excellent location, very friendly and helpful waitress. Service was prompt and unhurried.Lovely shaded on-street location and relaxing atmosphere. Had we been staying longer in Cluny we'd definitely have gone back for a meal.

My wife and I recently had lunch at LaCalabrese in Cluny. It is very convenient to the abbey and a great place for a mid-day meal. We both ordered pizza and, had we known in advance, we probably would have ordered one and shared it rather than having ordered the two that we did. They were large and reasonably priced. The manager indicated that all of the ingredients for the pizzas were imported from Italy. They certainly tasted authentic. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch for anyone heading to the abbey in Cluny.
