Steeped in tradition and care EDWINS Restaurant offers seasonal, classic French cuisine in the midst of Cleveland's Shaker Square. The restaurant has a unique mission; to do good and eat well. The charming bar and lounge are a welcoming spot for before
Food was absolutely phenomenal and hands down the best burger I've ever had. Wife had grouper which was cooked to perfection and delicious. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. The icing on the cake, however, was the owner, Brandon, checking on all the guests at the valet and since the workers were busy he went and got our car for us. He was helping with everything inside the restaurant throughout the night too and this is a perfect example of leading by example. Fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend.

I had the artichoke and arugula salad and loved them both. My other 7 companions had various dishes and each loved their dinners. We ate in the private wine room which was cozy. Our service was excellent. The outdoor patio is where we shared drinks and appetizers. Wow, what a place to sit outside! The olives, pizza and cheeses were perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I were thrilled to find this wonderful Hungarian restaurant during our visit to Cleveland. My heritage is Hungarian and I have memories of growing up eating wonderful Hungarian cuisine cooked lovingly by my mother. Eating at Balaton was really a treat. When we entered the restaurant we felt like we were in Hungary as the decor was done in a Hungarian motif. We were greeted by Louis, the owner who showed us to our table. We then met his nieces who are the extraordinary chefs at this fine restaurant. The goulash soup was delicious. That was followed by potato pancakes which were absolutely fabulous. My husband had the liver paprikash and I had the chicken paprikash. Each dish was beyond wonderful and brought back memories of my childhood. Service was excellent and we felt like we were dining with family. Our only regret is that this restaurant is in Cleveland and we live in New Jersey. While there, I even got to practice my very limited Hungarian with Louis. If you are ever in the Cleveland area, whether or not you are Hungarian, treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience and eat at Balaton. You will not be disappointed.
