Quite a few restaurants were closed in Polignano as it was Monday night and this included the restaurant we had intended on visiting.Frankly, weâre pleased it was closed as this establishment in Via Roma was superb.Itâs easy to know when youâve found a good restaurant as the service speaks volumes. Here Lorenzo, our waiter along with his female colleagues were exceptional.The atmosphere was really good, the soft jazz was spot on and of course the food dishes topped it all off. The salads were fresh, the pasta and fish dishes brilliant and the Tiramisu was the icing on the cake!We are in Polignano for three nights and despite the choice of eating places weâve decided to go back tomorrow night.

We stumbled upon Antichi Sapori on our way from Polignano a Mare to Ostuni and were treated to the best meal we had in Italy. Everything was perfect about it - sitting outside with a gentle breeze blowing, tables covered with white linen - the epitome of an Italian lunch. We shared Puglia burrata and salumi, bocconcini and tomato salad, amongst other dishes. The winning dish was undoubtedly the lasagna -I've never tasted such delicate lasagna, with paper-thin sheets of pasta covered in a delectable meat sauce, very light on the cheese, which was beyond perfection. The staff was welcoming and service was impeccable. If travelling in Puglia, this osteria is well worth a detour. You won't be disappointed.After months that we can answer, we remember the votive stay in our restaurant in the cool of our two trees. We thank you for the nice words spent in the treatment we have reserved. We are waiting for you on your next trip here in Puglia. Peppino Laterza

Finally returned to Anne's Place in Monopoli, and was able to take them to a restaurant they recommended, and it was a great place to go. Set in the countryside outside of Castellana Grotte, its a big villa in its own grounds. We ate on one of the terraces behind the villa. Greeted by friendly staff, who were attentive without being intrusive, we took the antipasta della casa and it was brilliant. Followed by seafood pasta and a beautiful piece of beef, served with new potatoes and grilled vegetables. The house red was excellent. A small shared desert, coffee and a grappa finished the meal off.

This restaurant ia also a take away but don't let that put you off. The restaurant is charming with a lot of attention to detail in the decor. The waiter was actually the owner and he spoke a little English but had a mens completely in English which was very helpful. The food was excellet and beautifully presented. Very relaxing with attentive service.

Vacationing in the south of Italy from Chicago, USA, in mid December I decided to visit for lunch Papaperta with my family. We've been welcomed by the friendly and capable Domenico and his staff. Really accessible price, five stars both for food quantity and quality, served by careful and warm staff. Amazing the view and the location surrounded by traditional Apulia countryside and the popular trulli. Highly recommended!
