We had a great meal here... grilled feta, lemon lasagna, and a speculoos dessert. It was a nice change from typical French menus and dishes. My only complaints are the cramped size and the poor service, but even so, we will most likely go back!

This is a Michelin one star restaurant
Loved the food, remarkable experience. Only complaint was that when I mentioned to our waitress that there were mosquitoes around us (we saw one repeatedly) and we had gotten several bites, she acknowledged the comment as if to say that was entirely possible (only a "oui"!), but she seemed totally disinterested in doing anything about it. I'm itching as I write this...

Daring to have âbouchonâ in the name of your restaurant and not being in Lyon is a real challenge. So we were very curious about this restaurant. It is situated in the center of Caen, and by nice weather you can eat on the terrace, what I would not recommend, because it is on the sidewalk of a steep street. Sometimes cars stand there and their fumes come over. So it is better to have the meal inside. You better book your table in advance, because there is the risk that the place is full. We got a nice table in the back of the small restaurant. The menu is on a blackboard. You can choose out of two set menus or each dish can be ordered à la carte. It is also possible to choose a dish from one menu and another from the other menu. Nobody worries. We ate brandade dâandouillette with snails and scrambled egg, a carrot veloute, gazpacho from zucchini with poached egg, chicken leg cooked in Norman beer and pork breast with carrot stew. As dessert we had chocolate cake and rum cake. All dishes where really good, well cooked and tasteful. This restaurant is a very good place to have a lovely meal. So is the lady of the house: very professional and friendly.

La Casiniere is a french restaurant, with traditionnal cooking, good-and-healthy quality food, in the city of Caen. Fancy Wine and delightfull desert, it's a must go if you're tripping in Normandy !
Our dinner at La Casiniere was one of the best during our several days stay in Caen. The room is charming and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the service was attentive. We like restaurants that serve moderately sized portions of well-prepared food, and that is what we found here. We both had a cod main course with a cream and chives sauce that was delicious. All mains come with vegetables, wnich is a nice touch. One of us had a poached egg and mushroom appetizer, also delicious. The menu is bistro-like, with only a half dozen mains and an equal number of apppetizers. The wine list is small, but with variety and plenty of good options. The check for two starters, two mains and a bottle of wine was 80 Euros, very reasonable for the high quality of the product. We will return to La Casiniere if we visit Caen again. Highly recommended.

This was the best meal of our month-long trip through Europe! Simply divine. The freshest ingredients with abundant flavor and the best brownie (served with ice cream) that Iâve ever eaten. EVER!!! Seriously! My only disappointment was that I couldnât take a few dozen home with me. The rest of our meal was equally wonderful â a great salad with apples and crayfish â and then a lovely veal with potatoes and tomato ratatouille that all went together beautifully. The restaurant is small (only 10-12 tables and one seating per night) but beautifully appointed and cozy. Their attention to detail is admirable. Reservations are recommended. La Courtine is the place for a most memorable meal while in Caen.

While the salmon tartare starter was excellent the Caesar salad my wife had was dry to the point of being inedible. The chicken was way over cooked and there was no dressing. When our dissatisfaction was pointed out, the waitress indicated that the salad, which was virtually uneaten would be deducted from the bill. On paying the bill, only a cappuccino was deducted and not the salad. To my embarrassment, I only discovered this on return to our hotel or I would have raised a fuss. I feel that we were taken advantage of as tourists. Of note that the guests at the next table had to have a main course returned to the kitchen. Whether this was a Sunday night âB teamâ staff or normal standard, this restaurant is not recommended; there are others in town.

Sébastien and Sylvie welcome you to their authentic crêperie and offer a kitchen and quality products.
Itâs such a cosy restaurant and the the gentleman that served us was a perfect host. We wanted a dinner of galettes and crepes and we certainly came to the right place. With such a huge variety to pick from it was a difficult choice. I had their special which was scallops and cream leaks, it was delicious!Desserts were equally good and so was their house wine. Itâs quite small so best to reserve a table, so pleased we did!

We were a party of six and everyone without exception thought our meal was brilliant. The welcome and service was everything you would expect. The quality and taste of the food was first class with a very good wine list that was not too expensive for good wine. All the food choices were appreciated with no-one disappointed. An exceptional evening.

Situed on the port of Ouistreham near the arrival and depart for Portsmouth by the Ferry .Seafood platter and a good wine are proposed.Speciality of Fish and Meat . The dishes are homemade. Fast and discreet service .Mussels, fish and ships and crepes .
Had dinner here before embarking for the UK on Saturday night . The service was faultless and the staff really lovely. We were not rushed at all and we had time to eat our meal at a lovely gentle pace. The Mere et terre starter of fois gras and salmon and prawn was superb and our main course of steak perfectly cooked to my taste and my wife had the veal in a lovely white sauce. The veal was a little overcooked but was still really tasty. All in all a good meal.
