This is a great place to spend a day, relaxing in the good sized pool, outdoor hot tub and other spa essentials. Avoid the overpriced and tasteless coffee (£3.50) in reception but we enjoyed a tasty anti-pasti board followed by healthy salad for lunch. You can spend the whole day in swimming costume and robe so next time we'll take a spare cossie as it can get a bit damp!

I visited here in late April as part of a day cycling around the New Forest. We stopped here for lunch. The menu was limited and my food - soup - wasn't great. It wasn't very hot and it lacked in flavour. The pub garden was nice and it was lovely sitting in the sun. I'd pop back in again if I was cycling by, but I wouldn't rush back.Dear GuestThank you for choosing to stop for lunch, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful day of cycling.I am so sorry that you felt the menu was limited and found the soup not to your satisfaction. Unfortunately, you havenât indicated if you brought this to the attention of the management team at the time, but I would like to offer my sincere apologies for your disappointment. We feel our gastro-pub, Montyâs Inn offers an excellent selection on the menu â a choice of two ploughmanâs, a range of sandwiches, five choices of starters and eleven mains. There is also an extensive childrenâs menu â whereas our lounge bar, the Magnolia Lounge, offers a more reduced menu â five savoury choices, including soup and ploughmanâs and a selection of desserts.I would like to pass on a little friendly advice â when visiting anywhere in the future, please do not hesitate to bring even the smallest issue to the managementâs attention in order that they have the chance to rectify and resolve the issue thus ensuring your total satisfaction before you leave, which is so important.I am pleased that you enjoyed sitting in the sunshine in our gardens and it is lovely to know that you will âpop back in againâ if you are cycling by, we look forward to that day and welcoming you again.Best wishesSunil

Very disappointed. After being given a £30 voucher from our friends and their recommendations we use it to enjoy brunch, we couldnât believe how badly disappointed we were with our brunch experience. The venue is beautiful, especially outside. However, inside the venue is a maze and we struggled to find our way to the lounge where we booked Saturday brunch. Some staff we came across along our way were not particularly interested in assisting us although the Receptionist was more helpful and he pointed us in the right direction. Nobody offered to take us to the lounge which given the layout would have been appreciated. We arrived to our table, greeted by a wasp first. It refused to leave our table so had to be escorted out of the window, not by a member of staff, our server just ignored it. I did it. We are regulars when it comes to brunch so my partner ordered the pancakes with fruits and maple syrup and I ordered eggs benedict but with avacado, no sauce. Plus tea and coffee. There was little atmosphere save for the toddler at a nearby table who was clearly as unimpressed as we were only they were more vocal about it. We overlooked the fish pond outside, which was really the best thing about our table position. I noticed the âcake of the dayâ was still left from the day before and there was a severe lack of attention when it came to the amount of clutter on show to guests and diners, just stuff around which should be cleared away. The âpancakesâ arrived as a single waffle with the fresh fruit and maple syrup. The rest of what we ordered came and was okay but not what you expect from an establishment with such a good recommendation as the one we had. The waffle was revolting, too sweet! The sugar was not mixed properly into the batter so each hard bite resulted in grains of sugar that could be detected on the teeth. It was like eating cubes of sugar. The server asked if we were enjoying our food so we said that the waffle was too sweet to eat (we already said there was no point changing it to pancakes as we wanted to eat together) it was like eating sugar cubes! Again, the eggs and avacado were okay but mine at home have more flavour. There is a 10% service charge which doesnât seem to be discretionary. This means that the staff really donât care about you or your experience. We have had better service from little tea rooms. Unbelievably the two breakfast and two hot drinks plus service charge gobbled up almost all of the £30 voucher our friends gave us.We felt the experience was lacking in everything we had hoped for. Itâs embarrassing as we have to tell our friends how disappointed we were and we know they will be saddened because they recommend brunch there. Everything we see about this place talks about their afternoon tea offer; how fabulous it is. Partly in hindsight we wondered if we should have tried that. Not sure we will be willing to be disappointed again.

Uncomplicated and simple British garden food, true to the micro seasons and influenced by the forest and coast, with the emphasis squarely on fresh, clean flavours.
Great smiley welcome. Beautiful restaurant largely in a conservatory. Practically nothing matches. Great menu choices, almost all is local, some even from the kitchen garden, some is foraged. Venison chorizo on toast with tomato and padron pepper was brilliant as a starter as was a beetroot salad with blackberries. Faggots! lovely, ditto pigeon. Chips were the best Iâve had for a long time. Lemon posset delicious, poached pears lovely. Everything a bit rustic. Just fantastic

Had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate my 25th birthday. The service was excellent and the whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming and very relaxing. An excellent selection of teas and the gluten free afternoon tea was incredible, the best gluten free scones i have ever tasted and the cakes were divine! The gluten free option didnt feel like a 2nd best option as is unfortunately the case in many places , cant rate this highly enough.

Relaxed pizzeria/wine bar serving contemporary starters, italian dishes, pizza's and pasta's. We are in the heart of the New forest.
We ate here two evenings and could not fault any of the food or wine we had. The second evening there were two parties of 8 and 10 diners and even though the place was full the two waitresses and the pizza chef coped admirably.Thank you for your kind words, we are a busy little restaurant and my team are very good at what they do so to get some praise from customers such as yourself is very kind and means a lot to us.see you again soon.best wishes

We started with the scallops and the tomato in puff pastry, both excellent, followed by the duck and beef bourguignon, again excellent. Decent portions for all dishes. Closing the wine was more of a challenge, however. Although they menu specifies a vintage, they bring a later vintage bottle - something that happens in a lot of restaurants nowadays (without adjusting the price accordingly). Very good service.

Several couples fined at Beresfords last week and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Our meal began with the warmest and most amazing sourdough bread and fresh butter. Followed by a selection of starters with prawns or scallops which I tasted and immediately wished I had ordered!! Then most of us ordered the steak (all cooked to perfection) with the most amazing oversized chips. I opted for the pork belly with a delicious gravy and cauliflower purée! Finished our meal with a supersized cheeseboard that couldnât disappoint anyone. We will, of course, be back very soon! Dear LandJNYUKThank you for your fantastic review of your recent visit to our restaurant Beresfords. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
