We had a lunch menu there and received a lot for little money. The main dish - cod respectively chicken - was well prepared and served in a great arrangement with creative sides. The dessert afterwards - a "terrine de chocolat" - even topped it. The restaurant is small and calm, the staff friendly and professional. The price-quality ratio is probably one of the best in Brest and convinced me easily to return for a dinner menu at some point.

I discovered this excellent restaurent while taking a walk to reacquaint my self with the area during my first visit to Brest for 6 years. It offers a good menu with specials on the menu for the day (which the selection really changing daily) providing particularly good value. The selection is based on classic French dishes and is high quality, tempting me to return for each night while I was in Brest. The restaurent is comfortable and I received a warm welcome from the staff, who spoke good English so my French language skills were not overtaxed. I intend to visit this restaurent again when I next visit Brest, hopefully very soon.

We found this little Irish pub on our first day in Brest. Dinner service starts at 19.00hrs but we were an hour early. The staff were friendly welcoming and helpful despite the fact that we don't speak French. They provided us with complimentary peanuts to keep us going until dinner. We ordered Moules Marinere and we're stunned at the size of the cauldron full of mussels they served for less than 10euro. This was accompanied by a large portion of fries and as much bread and butter as you could eat. I could not eat all they put in front of me but I gave it my best shot as it tasted so nice. We enjoyed our evening so much we went back the next night to try the sirloin steak and Scottish salmon. They too were lovely and the portions were large. We enjoyed the relaxed friendly atmosphere of the place so much we plan to visit again on our next trip to Brest. Thank you to all the staff and the owner. It was a pleasure to meet you all.

I liked this place. I was dining alone and the boss took the time to chat to me (in a mixture of my bad French and his rather better English). The food was well above average, with an interesting take on rillettes to start with, followed by a fish fillet that was properly lightly cooked.

Located in the commercial port of Brest, next to the marina castle, the restaurant "La Maison de L'Ocean" welcomes you all year for lunch and dinner, 7/7 in a marine atmosphere. Restaurant de fruits de mer au port de commerce de Brest Enjoy our specialtie
Massive bowl of Moules to start....formidable. Then had the BBQ'd Fish. Some type of fish nicer than others but they were really nicely presented and enjoyed. My daughter had Moules too and the fish curry and enjoyed it too. Finally the Creme Brulee was magnifique.

The place seems to be quite popular, it got full by 8.30pm on Thursday. Though I didn't quite understand the reason for this popularity. The main course was nice, but nothing special. The dessert was much better. The portion was on a small side, comparing to other French restaurants. Overall, I believe one can get something better in Brest for the same price (a main course, dessert, and some wine was â¬25.50). The service was fine, both waiters were very nice and friendly, and one of them could speak English a little.

A typical tiny French bistro - busy lunch time atmosphere - great food and attentive service. The menu was simple two options for each course. The food was well cooked, interesting flavours and not over facing - great value at 13Euros per person for lunch. I'd recommend booking so as not to be disappointed.

Personal service by Chef Michel! We let the chef pick the courses. Delicious food and over the top service! Scallop meal was my favorite.

Restaurant Gastronomique
Le M is set in a beautiful old house with simply decorated rooms in lovely, old style decor. The meals were also beautifully presented, as you may expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The trio of patés was a delightful combination of textures and flavours, and the seafood dish came with a perfectly light sauce. All food and wine was interensteing and excellent, and would love to come again sometime.

We ate at this restaurant because it is very close to our house. I think that we chose the wrong night because the menu options left a little to be desired. When the food came, it was good and nicely plated, but you'd better like what's available that night or you might walk away a little disappointed.
