The look of the restaurant and the emptiness of it scared us a little, but not finding any available alternatives, we chose to have dinner in this restaurant.Well, it's been a surprise!The food was really good, local meat hunted in the region. Those "special" dishes were a bit expensive, but everything else was in a more normal Belgian price range.Desserts too were good (yes these were actually expensive... bu I had an amazing chocolate mousse!)The service was quick and good, in a familiar way. There was a friendly old dog walking slowly around the tables that caught everybody's cuddles.... :)

Having overnighted here some years ago and been very impressed with the restaurant at breakfast we decided to return for our 25th wedding anniversary and splash out on a couple of evening meals.The hotel was as we remembered it. It is a family run hotel just outside the small town of Bouillon. It is very welcoming, clean and well run. The breakfasts are a delight.Unfortunately we never got chance to find out what the evening meals are like. At the time we booked the hotel there was no sign anywhere that the restaurant may be closed during our stay. As it turned out the owners were away during our stay celebrating a special birthday. It is probable that their holiday was booked after ours. In that case I would have expected some communication from the owners warning us that the restaurant would be closed to give us the opportunity to change our booking.This would have been a 5 star review except for this.We would recommend it to anyone.

Very nice restaurant in Bouillon. Good quality and good price. Small restaurant room, but quite nice decoration. Ideal for a couple or a small group. I love their trout and I will go back.

We ordered the calamaris and spareribs. Both were tasteless. Spareribs looked and tasted as if prepared in the microwave. Calamaris were rubbery and drenched in garlic. Worst food we have had in a long time. After we politely stated this to the staff, we were still forced to pay the check for the food we didnât eat. Overpriced tasteless garbage. We left very disappointed and went to eat some pasta in one of the local taverns.

Fresh oysters, generous pork chop in a lively sauce, friendly and unpretentious. I would have given 5 stars had there been more veg. Only takes cash no cards.

We had the hotels 3 course meal deal included in our booking. This really turned out to be more like a 5 course meal as we were given an appetiser in the bar area before we were taken to the restaurant and once we were in the restaurant we also had a soup starter. The menu was limited but the food was really good.

I found this place because I was looking to eat at 3pm, and this was the only restaurant open. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The gentleman that waited on us was incredibly friendly and patient with my poor French. I got the roast chicken which came with a small salad and a side of your choice. I chose the potatoes au gratin. It was delicious and more than I could eat. I also want to mention that the bathroom was very clean.

+cosy place, not too big+normal prices+good price/value+++ extremely delicious (fish, meat, dessert, everything was perfect! - the waiting time was a little long (+/- 10min longer than average but really worth the wait, Compliments to the chef! :-)

We were referred to this restaurant by Hostellerie du Cerf and we appreciated the referral. We started with a nice Belgium beer sitting out on the Quay. We went inside and had a wonderful meal. At the entrance to the restaurant there is a sign stating that they only accept cash, which was fine. Not every restaurant is willing to deal with credit card companies. For us, that was part of its charm. The waiter was fantastic. He spoke as much English as we spoke French so it worked out fine in the end. The food was fabulous. We wanted to go back but we were heading to France the following day. So long as you bring cash, I think you will have a wonderful time.
