Located at the nearby university hospital for a few days we explored the area for food options. A Portuguese style restaurant in the middle of a German city seemed intriguing. The food was tasty, beautifully prepared and served, huge quantities on the plate. We hope to hit it again during the coming by three days.

been there a few times, mostly for dinner. quite a good selection, with frequent changes to the menu. some of the choices usually sound more sophisticated and experimental than they are. the restaurant still stands for very good quality food, and excellent service (as long as they are not packed full, but you'd expect most restaurants going into troubles in such situations).also, really nice building, worth a visit. summer in the garden was great, too. location is a bit off the beaten track, so you'd rather need a car or cab to go there.

Ate here on 3 occasions during a recent stay. First one went very well with each dish turning up and tasting great. The other two visits didn't quite work out the same way. Of three tapas ordered only 2 arrived and although I brought this to the attention of the staff, on the third occasion I was still charged for it when the bill arrived until I reminded them once more that I had not received the dish.

Little bit old-fashioned, but pleasant atmosphere. Waiters looked extremely bored during the whole evening. In their eyes the look of "still not time to go home"? Starter and main plate were regarding taste ok, presentation was screaming for more attention. When we wanted to order a desert at 21.45 hr (!!!) we got the answer "sorry but our chef is already home and the kitchen is closed .... ". Who neglected his duties here? The chef? The waiter? Or management?

We arrived on Sunday with the small town like this, most of the restaurants are closed or gone for summer holiday. Normally for pizza, pasta and spaghetti can't go so wrong and our little one likes these anyway, so we go for this restaurant. The waitress tried to be hospitality but they barely speak English, we did order food and the food quality were fine (as how it should be) but we came with 3 persons and there was a table with 6 persons came later than us. They get food at the same time with us and they even get their bill earlier than us when we asked first. Basically that is OKAY but don't put high expectation for that.PS. As an Italian restaurant, they don't have ice cream/ gelato; was a bit disappointing..

Was here as part of an international day in a nearby university. That they chose this place to entertain their guests from many countries in Europe and beyond is a good sign. We had a set menu which was good - homemade soup, two unusual quiches ( walnut and carrot I think ) and a nice chocolate cake dessert. Ambience was nice and the staff friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is in a nice green area of the city next to the Animal Park and âFossiliumâ. The inside matches the outside perfectly, large windows let in plenty of light and the décor is stylish but comfortable. As it is an Austrian restaurant we had the âWiener Schnitzelâ- a boneless breaded veal chop and âbackhendlâ. We thought that the âbackhendlâ was chicken â which it was - but it turned out to be 3 pieces of breaded deep fried chicken breasts. They were tender but tasteless and over prized. As side dish a potato salad with lambâs lettuce was served. The âWiener Schnitzelâ and the side dish were ok and we enjoyed the wine. Maybe the service was slow because we went for dinner on a Saturday evening.

"you say Tapas - we say Meze!"
We happened upon this place while in Bochum overnight for business. Luckily we searched for a restaurant early as later it became very busy as it is popular for very good reasons. The management asked if we'd mind taking a table and finishing within two hours as it was reserved for later. This was no problem at all as orders were taken and food arrived very quickly with attentive service and good advice about the menu options. Ordered just one glass of local red wine each and it was lovely too. A delightful meal. No wonder this place is popular.

A gem of a find with a wonderful outdoor deck. The owner had recently been boar hunting and made a fabulous ragu to compliment some homemade pasta. The wine selection is wonderful and the pizza totally yummy. The service super friendly. A must stop if you are going to the Starlight Theatre
