Modern cousin where you least expect it, the menu is nice and imaginative. Doesn't disappoint and it always delivers excellent quality food. It's a small restaurant, decoration is unexpected but nice. The best thing about this place is how the owner/chef is very attentive with his clients and always comes over to explain the plates and talk with the customers. If you're around the area a definitely must go, do advice to make reservations as it gets busy on the weekends.

A tavola di canela born in 2005, the main idea is to bring the Italian-Mediterranean cuisine of the Sierra de Madrid in a different way, with excellent meat offered by the environment, with the best seasonal and fresh pasta, betting on a cuisine based on
We went to A Tavola on a Sunday evening, just after it opened at 9 pm. The atmosphere was dead .... not just because we were too early for the local crowd, but because there was nothing Italian about the decor, picture, furnishings, etc. The list of items on the menu was fine - but the quality was variable. We started with garlic bread (which was really dry) and a mushroom and chicken crepe - which was very large and covered in a creamy sauce. The garlic bread was rendered edible by spreading it with some of the sauce from the crepe. The crepe was Ok, but very rich and too large for a starter (yes - I could have left some, but my eyes are bigger than my stomach).Main courses - a vegetable pizza, which was pretty good, and a black tagliatelle dish with pieces of salmon and prawn. On investigation we did find some salmon, but only uncovered from the heavy sauce, one lonely prawn. The taste was Ok, but the sauce was simply too heavy and the pasta was way past al dente.House wine was fine and the cortadosto finish were very good. The waitress was really good and efficient.Overall summary - probably best in Spain to eat Spanish food, but if you are really hankering for something different after a longish holiday (as we were), you could give this a try. It may be that Sunday evening is a quiet night for them and perhaps the other dishes were better!(?)

Our recollection of a visit around 10 years ago was extremely favourable, but a dinner recently with my family was a disappointment. The grounds were unkempt in strong contrast to the magnificent surroundings previously and the ambience in the restaurant, although still pleasant needed revitalising. We took advantage of a promotional discount on the "estrella Michelin" menu (4 fixed courses with no choice-although my wife was allowed to substitute ox-tail for hake) and the cooking was competent but did not reflect the capability of a talented chef that Salvador Gallego has the reputation of being (and which we can confirm through personal experience from our visit all those years ago). It was hardly worth the â¬66; however, with the 50% discount on the food the quality/price ratio was good.Lastly, the service despite being professional lacked enthusiasm or sparkle.Overall, a shame because there is so much potential in this establishment which was previously also a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux chain.

Decided to try the Alacena after reading some very positive reviews on TA and it did live up to expectations. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The 3-course menu for â¬16 was made available to us on a Saturday night at 9pm. Food was creative and delicious, service friendly (which in my books is always a big brownie point in a touristy area where we clearly aren't locals). I am SO going back this summer.

When visiting Madrid try get out to Navacerrada, beautiful little village at the foot of the mountains with a very attractive centre full of bars and restaurants. Rompicapo is a typical Italian restaurant, ideal for families, serving Pizza and Pasta and many other specialities. Don't be put off if you don't speak Spanish, Manolo, the owner speaks excellent English and is a great host, attentive, helps with suggestions and is good fun! The price/quality equation is very good and I would recommend it for a relaxed informal lunch/evening

The staff are friendly, the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable, what more can you ask for. Roast chicken is beautifully cooked but there is so much more to choose from.

We enjoyed our dinner here. Staff were extremely friendly and did their utmost to make us feel at home and live up to our every wish. Food was great we had a full meal each with a starter, main dish, desrt, coffee a bottle of Ribera and some dry white verdejo to start with. The chrage was substantial at 154 euro, but we enjoyed every bit of it. Go here for an exquisite evening out, full attention by the staff and very good food.
