Wonderfull ambiance, company and food. Most restaurants are too scared or too mean to ad visible garlic to a dish, but hear you feel the garlic is really doing your blood good. Amazingly tasty.

We went there because we like greek food.. we were definitively in the wrong place. first, we had to wait something like 45 minutes in a normal evening (there were people, but not so much). Then I asked if there was a pita together with the gyros, and the answer was "gyros goes with french fries, not pita", in a quite unpolite way...It was quite clear that I knew more than them about greek food, and I´m not an expert at all.. then after the long waiting, the dishes finally come...they were terrible.. gyros meat was dry, and with a few french fries (really a few for 11 euro...), I asked for Ketchup, and I found out that they charged it. my wife took a Moussaka, and it was frankly unpresentable, totally melted and shape-less. Even worse, the taste was worse than the aspect. Badly warmed in the microwave, and tasted quite old and bad.. really, bad bad choice, I hope this helps other people, because it is not acceptable such a low level

As a British visiting family, we thought we were in for a treat with this restaurant, but how wrong we were. The service (to us) was appalling. Whilst local customers came and went, we waited about an hour and a half for our main course. We were quizzed where we were from, and why we were there, and it made us feel extremely unwelcome. As time marched on and my two young boys were getting hungry and fed up I tried to ask a waiter where the food was, and he walked away. At last food arrived. My pizza seemed to have raw aubergine and courgette on it - quite inedible. The pasta was ok. On paying, they took my credit card away from the table (very bad form) and there was much discussion about it before they finally took payment. Unlike the other local customers we were not offered any of the niceties at bill time - such as complimentary sweets etc. A thoroughly miserable place to eat with inhospitable and bad mannered hosts - avoid like the plague.

I had a very well cooked pork chop, but that was the only thing on the menu - apart from fish - with proper potatoes. If I wanted mash or semolina I would make it at home. The menu was slightly pretentious and very expensive.Quality of the food was fine, and service adequate. There is a warning in the menu that eels take 30 minutes to cook. There is no warning aginst my pork chop, but it took an hour from being ordered.

A varied menu with reasonable prices, nice ample prepared meals with comfortable seating in a nicely decorated surrounding. The service was excellent even though busy with the staff being very attentive.

We went to this typical German restaurant with my German cousins, who live nearby. It's one of their favorites and is near Hotel Hof Von Bothmer, where we stayed. The cuisine was German, of course, but there was something for everyone. It's in an old thatched building and interior décor is old fashioned. The dining room is filled with antiques and the wait staff wears regional costumes.

While vacationing from Vancouver, visiting relatives in Wilhelmshaven for a week, my brother & his wife took my husband and I to " Der Spieker " for a special dinner after visiting the delightful village of Bad Zwischenahn. We loved this beautiful rustic and historic Bauernhaus Restaurant very much. It had a wonderful atmosphere and ambience during our meal. My husband does not speak German and while I was trying to translate, our very friendly waitress handed him a menu in English. She was dressed in the traditional costume of the Ammerlaender area we were told. The food was all very delicious especially my dinner of Bratherring & Crispy Fried Potatoes. My brother had the Suelze with Fried Potatoes which he orders every time he comes to this Restaurant. My husband's favourite beer is Erdinger Weissbier and was quite happy to see it on the menu as well as the "Weber Spezial" which he enjoyed! We will definitely come back next time we are in Wilhelmshaven! I would recommend this Restaurant highly for anyone visiting the beautiful village at the Lake.
