Reviews on European food in Bad Kreuznach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Bad Kreuznach (German pronunciation: [baːt ˈkʁɔʏtsnax]) is a town in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It does not lie within any Verbandsgemeinde, even though it is the seat of the like-named Verbandsgemeinde. Bad Kreuznach is a spa town and the seat of several courts as well as federal and state authorities. Bad Kreuznach is also officially a große kreisangehörige Stadt ("large town belonging to a district"), meaning that it does not have the district-level powers that kreisfreie Städte ("district-free towns/cities") enjoy. It is, nonetheless, the district seat, and also the seat of the state chamber of commerce for Rhineland-Palatinate. It is classed as a middle centre with some functions of an upper centre, making it the administrative, cultural and economic hub of a region with more than 150,000 inhabitants. Moreover, the town and the surrounding areas are renowned both nationally and internationally for their wines, especially from the Riesling, Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau grape varieties.

Try spaghetti prepared in bowl out of italian cheese. Daily recommendations are written on a blackboard and worthwhile considering. But also a traditional Pizza is a good choice (they do not offer the usual list of 20 types). The owner has the charming friendliness of an Italian. The location is a little bit overstuffed with Italian things and could need some renovation. But this adds to the authentic atmosphere.

A must, especially for tourists like me that enjoy wine and want their experience to be enriched! The Nahe Vinothek is the best place to taste a good glass of wine from the wine growing region NAHE. It is situated in a representative old house/building named âDienheimer Hofâ. One can sit at tables, the bar in a room on the ground floor or in the cellar. You may choose from 50 open bottles of wines. If you would like to taste a variety, you may order a wine-tasting with 6 different wines. The wine of 50 wine-growers; among them the best and highly awarded of the Nahe region. There is a choice of 150 'Nahe' bottles of wine, three from each winemaker. I was assured that you may purchase wine at the price the wine grower charges - NO mark-up! It is not an official restaurant, but they serve smaller regional food; onion cake when it's a new wine season or flame cake, sandwiches etc. Four times a year they offer âwine and dineâ. A four-plate-menu is accompanied by four matching wines presented by one of the 50 wine-growers and in December they open the Winter Lounge in the yard of the âDienheimer Hofâ. During the cold winter time you may taste red and white hot wine, what the Germans call âGluehweinâ.Enjoy your visit as much as my wife and I did. We sat outside in the courtyard talking to one of the Partners, Jan Glaab, who's knowledgeable and his English is excellent. Here are the names of some very popular and possibly the best winegrowers in the Nahe. Their wines are available in the Vinothek:-- Weingut Emrich-Schönleber- Weingut Dönnhoff- Weingut Dr.Crusius- Weingut Diel- Weingut Johannes Baptist Schäfer- Weingut Schäfer-fröhlich- Weingut Gut Herrmannsberg- Weingut Kruger-Rumpf- Weingut SchneiderThe first seven estates are all members of the VdP (Verband der Prädikatsweinhersteller ) This private organization of winegrowers are producing wines on a high quality standard, e.g. they allow only a maximum amount of 7.000 litres out of a hectar (10.000 m²) vineyard. In good years you may harvest 10.000 and more. And, a winegrower may become a member only by recommendation of other winegrowers who are already VdP-members.

Tucked away in a side street in the old town we fell on this delightful little restaurant. An excellent wine list and very knowledgeable staff to help guide you round it. The menu is fresh daily so is only on a Blackboard. Our German is not too good so they were only too happy to translate it for us. The food was delicious and the best we ate in Bad Kreuznach.

Was there after a disappointing visit 2 months ago. They improved a lot, though there still is some room for more (isn't there always?). We were a party of 4, reserved a table and it turned out to be a good idea, as the place was filled with no free tables. They helped us with the coats, we sat. We were asked for beverages and were handed the menues within a few minutes. Some fresh bread (white and brown) with butter, some cream and lard came with the beverages. We ordered and the starters arrived pretty soon (we all chose to have the same: cold beef slices on a cream with reddish and a topping of beet creme. Delicious and surprising. Two of us chose Wiener Schnitzel, with fried potatoes and salat and they also liked it very much: not too greasy, but tender and tasty. And quite a big portion. Anotherone chose the strange combination of fish fillet and blackpudding. But it turned out to be a great combination of tastes. Finally, lamb fillet, 4 pieces on ratatouille and with cooked potatoes. Also a large portion and excellent. We then ordered the menu again and ordered different desserts. Unluckily, the desserts took some time and also did not arrive in parallel. Maybe we should have ordered then upfront.Service is young, sometimes we could feel some overload (e.g. orders for refills were not taken). But again: they very much tried to do a good job for the customers, which all of us appreciated well. Very good choice for Bad Kreuznach, one of the best 5 restaurants here.

The Restaurant offered an outstanding 4 course dinner. The vines corresponded perfectly to the international and regional foods having been served this night. Amazing ideas went into the dessert creation, I'm just mentioning the "basil-creme-ice". It was a very nice evening, worth every penny.

We had a beautiful dinner last night and were adviced by one of the waiters about a very good local German wine from the area (not on the wine list). Food was excellent from starter to dessert. We were a party of three and all had different dishes which all had an excellent quality.Service was wonderful, all staff very qualified, friendly with attention to all guests. After settling the restaurant bill we were offered a grappa of the house.

A lovely restaurant on the banks of the Nahe river with the sound of rushing water and views of the steep river banks with wineyards on top:) We had one of the best Italian dinners we have had in Europe! I had a cold seafood starter with lots of octopus i
From the moment we entered the restaurant everything was superb. We were greeted in a warm and friendly manner which set the tone, then we were quickly seated with a wonderful view of the Nahe river only a few feet away. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly which is exactly how it should be. Then the food was served and it was superb. Delicious Italian food matched with a wonderful Italian wine. One thing i noticed was how well drilled the wait staff were. When they were free, they didn't just mingle somewhere. They paid attention to the tables and soon as something was needed they were there, it was the best service i have found in a long time. There is a reason for this restaurant being ranked #1. There is nothing i could fault. Would dine here every time I'm in town.

Restaurant & Terrasse - Fine dining in a very special and relaxing atmosphere. Tastefully different!
It was a warm monday evening when we arrived, together with our business friends from Doha, at this location. The Restaurant is part of the Kelsterbach Tennis club, which is by the way a fantastic organized club with great courts, and located in the old forrest area completely embedded in the nature of the Kelsterbacher city Forrest. We experienced a great evening, enjoyed awesome & delicious food ( huge portions ) and good drinks which have been served by friendly and attentive staff.Necessary to mention that we paid for both, food and drinks, really reasonable prices. My personal conclusion, this is indeed a place to visit and you certainly will come back more than once.I only can recommend start your own journey to explore the Restaurant Auszeit .Timo Stroh
